sure, because he's only in it for the attention these days while President Musk does the work

these endless DC shell games obscure basic facts: medicaid fed cut means states make it up (higher taxes) or hits a mix of: patients (fewer insured, which bites back when they get really sick) and health systems (less $, less choice) Yes there is waste to cut but its used to hide the realities

the mistake occurred in 2021-2, it was not taking rising prices seriously enough and developing messages people could understand about causes and actions being aggressively taken contrast with Trump's stupid tweets, for all his massive faults the man knows how to spin the uninformed

suprising a guy with Cuban's expertise wouldn't focus on a more obvious and valuable solution: need to make health care more efficient/effective through data/analytics/best practices. just like every other industry; hc is 20 years behind.

why don't they simply stop the charade and say flat out they don't think they have an obligation to help low income people.

Donald's hair is the perfect symbol for his administration: a few thin, wispy strands of substance covered with a huge amount of goo to hid the giant bald spot

Problem is: average man on street feels a wrecking ball needs to be applied to 'the system' so many of the complaints falling on deaf ears. It won't be until damage is done to things they care about that any effective resistance can emerge.

sorry, this is MT Greene/Bobert level pandering to the base and counterproductive for building a critical mass of consensus. Let's focus on the illegal defunding of programs that help average Americans, like canceling the free tax filing service, and make R defend it

I used to think he was one of the good ones with a conscience, he voted to impeach Trump. But sadly he's finally sold his soul to avoid political blowback

well, at least he's qualified for photo ops. and it keeps him away from doing all the things a Sec Def does for which he is not qualified

better answer: forge a larger alliance. Trump is concurrently playing the same stupid cat-mouse games with EU and UK. Get everyone on one page, tell him to take a hike and invite China to a summit

Except ideology is dead: the underpinning of the current movement is: 'whatever makes me happy' and 'owning the libs'; any intellectual inconsistencies are simple ignored.

he's simply teeing up the talking points and story lines for the Fox Fluffers and the rest of right wing media

Said another way the hallowed motto of Silicon Valley, 'move fast and break things', now applies to plane travel, What else will President Musk break with life threatening consequences?

yes, but he could never have pulled it off in 'old media' where he'd been fact checked; it only succeeds because on line destroyed that editorial check. he can say the sky is green and all sorts of outlets would be debating Kelly or Emerald?

i do a lot of work in SV, they are all modern day 'Calvinists', who believe they are a superior, chosen people whose success and wealth are a confirmation of their greatness its why they're always after more: it validates their status within the chosen

yes, ibu irritates stomach, as do nsaids and aspirin; can cause GI bleed, especially at rx strength and with frequent use. tylenol doesn't but causes liver damage, especially with alcohol. its a good reminder to know the risk profile of every medicine, even OTC.

we cant worry about the maga hard core who want every non white deported. We need to focus on the rest who thought the guy would make life better than Biden, and show the lazy, cruel uncaring man he is. The man played golf yesterday when he could have been clarifying these orders to avoid chaos.
comment in response to post
Occam's Razor, Trump version: when in question, assume stupidity (with a health dose of laziness). Why Dems aren't on every street corner excoriating Trump for all this chaos and confusion WHEN HE PLAYED GOLF YESTERDAY RATHER THAN CLARIFY THE OREDERS.

brilliant, so he'll increase the price of drugs (either by tariffs or bc COGS increase with u.s. manuf) - and the biggest payer of those drugs who will pay the multi billion dollar costs increase: the U.S. gov.

the fuss over AI is overblown: before it there was a decade of NLP/ML applications, before that armies of mostly offshore nurses in reality there are legit use cases, MDs order a bunch of wrong stuff. However insurers are blatantly abusing it to shamefully pad profits. but its not a new game.
comment in response to post
no consumer product costs just the sum of its parts, typically COGs is 30-50% of the actual price: there are profits (to reward shareholders for the capital needed to develop and build) and usually a markup for the retailer whose store you buy it from (or the online equivalent)

To illustrate the folly: commercial entities sell their information to government - no trade secret issues. Its purely the vanity of someone wanting it built 'their way' and the power/career build it creates, then snowing a group of reviewers too uninformed to know alternates exist.

i've seen NIH up close, even gotten grants; there are a lot of things they fund that don't make sense (and yes, you have to take risks and you should assume some failures). One easy example: they are spending millions building databases when better ones already exist in the private sector.

Everyone pretending this is some new thing: with AI they are just updating the NLP models they've been using for years to do the same thing. Heck Innovalon had armies of Philippine nurses doing this for decades

when you have a compliant media, you can live in Wonderland, where the Mad King can simply pretend he's doing things so he can make his tee time and the faithful will never hear that its all a sham.

The same people whining about 'woke' CA come from states with lower life expectancy, lower avg. income, higher poverty and higher illiteracy. It's the old deflection game to avoid being held accountable for their failures.
comment in response to post
yeah, but we also get to see a bunch of dipsh*ts blame red state politics and climate change deniers for the disasters since that is our new normal in this dysfunctional, unmoderated 'free speech' world.
