The team that got laid off was an overseas support team, the main devs are in China. And the game director was not let go, that's straight up misinformation.

Yeah I stopped playing it probably only a few weeks after launch because I could tell how much of a grind it was going to be to unlock characters for free. They REALLY wanted you to buy the premium currency to "skip the grind"
