We found out 2 weeks ago our 2nd grader tested as “highly academically gifted” and was invited into the public school’s special school. Makes sense because he’s always telling us how bored he is in class 🙈

I clicked! It’s super interesting but I didn’t feel like there was enough info about what will be done with my data to confidently sign up. Wish it could be self hosted.

As long as we give a pass to any sort of dehumanization in our discipleship journey we have failed to model Jesus. Don’t be like this. Call it out. Name it for what it is. Find Jesus not American White Nationalism or patriarchy or any ism that looks at a person as less than. /end

This has in particular harmed women & minorities & lgbt people. It has to be reckoned with if those of us who claim some semblance of faith are serious about Jesus. It’s a massive discipleship problem. I wrote about it briefly here: krrd.ing/posts/what-i... /2

Turned on #stateofthepeople because of your earlier tweet and then shared it in a large signal group I’m in too! Thanks! It’s so hopeful being a fly on the wall of encouraging convos.

I would encourage you to watch the #StateOfThePeople livestream instead. It is encouraging seeing Black leaders who have direction. www.youtube.com/live/VeLjEPU...

They are also competitors in the sense that substack intentionally is trying to capture & keep traffic on its site (like Facebook). Facebook is bad because of Meta. Substack is bad because of their history harboring/covering for Nazi content. Ghost is an amazing alt for it.

It’s one of my fav movies. Try to watch yearly. The ending is achingly beautiful and the only film that has made me tear up.

Oof. I’m sorry. I don’t envy your position and, even though I’m not in it, I’m glad there are pastors like you there willing to call a spade a spade & be salt/light. I can’t even imagine all the spiritual bypassing to cover the severe cognitive dissonance that must be occurring.
