A lot of these folks don't consider *any* publicly-funded work (aside from the military and emergency services like police, apparently) to be "real work".

As someone who is neurodivergent in a way that tends to make me verbose, I often wonder how often I'm mistaken for a bot because of the way I "talk". In the past people have mistaken me for someone who was ESL and using a translation tool because of it, so it's not much of a stretch.

Still might not be a bad idea to get checked out, just in case. Just because it eventually happened doesn't necessarily mean that there's not a problem.

You should get checked out by a doctor, just to be on the safe side.

I got deer, too. Pretty accurate, for the most part (aside from the rom-com stuff).

This one brings a real smile to my face. No offense to the reasonable members of the Chiefs fanbase, but their fanboys were being absolutely INSUFFERABLE all year whenever anyone dared to point out their issues. This game, and the utter domination within it, was exactly what the doctor ordered.

[30 Medicine] A quick study of the body reveals that the thug is still alive, and merely pretending to be dead.

Turns out the secret to beating the Lions is to beat them at their own game. Some really gutsy calls for the Commanders tonight, and most of them worked out.

Counterpoint: They need to stop having community days on Saturdays. I work Saturdays.
(the correct answer, of course, would be not have these events only last a couple of hours, but let's face it, that'll never happen)

I'll be really disappointed if any of the existing Megas (aside from maybe the Primals) don't make the cut. They're such an important part of Gen 6 that having a Legends game set in Kalos without all of them will feel like a missed opportunity (especially not knowing when/if they'll come back again)

After almost six months of play never finding any of the
Birds, I had a Moltres this past Saturday and an Articuno earlier tonight (non-Shiny, also the Articuno got away). I wonder if they tweaked the spawn rates for this event?

Two reasons for this:
1) Aside from a few outliers, the industry has never fully recovered from the pandemic and the resulting/already-in-progress shift to streaming
2) Almost all of the 2024 films mentioned have had terrible (or at least worse) word-of-mouth compared to the originals.

I'm fine with it. It was one of the ones they advertised in the Kickstarter that brought the show back from the brink, so it makes sense that it takes priority.
Not to mention the last 3 episodes were 2D battles, so it makes sense for one of the 3D ones to come out now.

HG/SS and OR/AS (even the Let's Go games) are so much better at being remakes that it almost feels like an insult to mention them in the same sentence as FR/LG (or BD/SP for that matter). It's amazing what a little effort can do to make them feel fresh in comparison to the originals.

(But hey, at least they weren't BD/SP, right?)

Like, for all of Colosseum's faults, at least it tried to bring *something* new to the series even if it fell flat on its face repeatedly in the process (and at least it led to the significantly better XD). FR/LG don't even have that going for them.

They're some of my least favourite games in the entire series (despite Gen 3 being one of my favourite Gens) because of this and IMO they're the worst Kanto games by a wide margin. They feel indecisive, cold, and soulless. Like they were only made to fill the Dex slots lost from the jump to GBA.

FR/LG feel like they have a serious identity crisis. They stripped away a lot of the improvements to the Pokemon formula that the Gen 2-3 games made, while simultaneously changed just enough that they don't have the same simple "purity" that going back and playing RBY has.

I'd love for the ones from the VGA King's Quest remakes to be added too.

I've only ever had PokeRus once, on Silver almost 25 years ago. Was definitely a weird moment, especially since I had no way of knowing what it actually did at the time.

As for Boomstick, I think he was just being overly paranoid. Narratively it would make sense for him to be the Imposter for the usual "Boomstick and Wiz are opposites in so many ways" jokes, but I'm just not getting that vibe this time.

Well, we know there's two of them. I'm going with Ringmaster and Joselyn.
How did Joselyn "know" what DUMMI was saying when his mic wasn't working? Especially when DUMMI actually voted for Ringmaster?
RM had no reason to suspect Wiz other than Boomstick's suspicions, yet immediately jumped on him.

This is EXTREMELY true. It's why I always roll my eyes when I hear people say that entertainers/artists/athletes/etc. aren't important; we NEED stuff to entertain us so we can mentally perform at our best. If life was all cubicle work and hard labour, what would we have to get through the day?

...and raising them without having a feel for what they can actually do off the start. It's like every new encounter is a small mystery waiting to be decoded, and it's addictive.

If I had to guess, it's the Pokemon themselves more than anything; that feeling of slowly filling up the Dex, hunting for new Mons in every new area under different time/weather conditions to see what new ones spawn, not knowing if/how the ones I've found will evolve...

I can't put my finger on precisely what it is, but there's a certain magic to playing a new Pokemon game for the first time that no other new game has ever managed to capture for me. Been a fan for over 25 years and that magic feels just as strong as ever.

I'm expecting a lighthearted palette cleanser more than anything. For the first time in almost a decade, we're getting an episode right before the holiday season that isn't a season finale, so why not do something silly? Especially after the year of stress and uncertainty they've had?

Even games like Fire Emblem, where units often attack in waves as you approach them instead of actively chasing you down wherever you are, has a much grander scale. I also think the smaller party size is a big reason why XCOM works so well for Yahtzee; it gives each unit's actions more weight.
comment in response to

I had never really thought about it before, but a standard mission on XCOM essentially being a series of small skirmishes really is its secret sauce that makes it stand out in a genre where huge pitched battles are the norm.

I've always liked to imagine that cats would also see bats as winged versions of themselves. Most active at dusk and dawn, angular ears, fangs, and claws, liking caves and trees... bats are even more closely related to cats than mice are.

And really, Paradox Pokemon wouldn't be the only ones to benefit from her, either. Klinklang, Revavroom, Genesect... I'm sure they could all benefit from regular tune-ups and polishing.
