Our very own @leobenedictus.bsky.social appearing on @lbc.co.uk today to discuss this fact check 👇

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Pleased that at least one UK politician, Ed Davey is solidly speaking out, maybe you should invite him on to your show James?

Right, social media site. Today is the day that the lovely people at @picadorbooks.bsky.social reveal the cover for my first crime thriller, The Cut Throat Trial. So here it is. And I think it’s rather splendid. If anybody wishes to preorder, links are below. bio.to/7zNmPU Eek.

Brexit support is collapsing—not just because people are changing their minds, but because of demographics. Younger voters overwhelmingly reject Brexit, yet Labour remains stubbornly cautious. How long can they ignore this shift? @eastangliabylines.co.uk

Rachel Reeves looks to have been a bit silly but for journalists of a certain age to profess outrage at creative expenses claims turns hypocrisy in to an art form. When I started out, one legendary character was reputed to have put a son through Eton via bogus receipts. But my favourite story...

Donald Trump’s proposal for Gaza is bizarre and dangerous. The UK cannot remain silent.

Interesting fact if you want support Canadian businesses. Here are some you may not realise are Canadian owned. British Sugar, Jordan’s Cereals, Dorset Cereals, Twinings Tea, Primark, Ovaltine, Ryvita, Kingsmill, Allinsons, Mazola, Pataks, Blue Dragon Silver Spoon, G Costa and even Fortnum & Mason!

Take a listen to Justin Trudeau’s speech today (it’s on YouTube, not the BBC etc). Compare and contrast his intelligent, measured and thoughtful speech, in two languages, to the USA President. One is a statesman and one is an embarrassment. It won’t be difficult to work which is which.

You can speak bromides about 'making Brexit work' or you can be serious about growth but you can't do both.

We need to get rid of of Brexit and start using BritIN everywhere!

The Government plan is to temporarily renationalise Thames Water, for you to pay off its debts, and then to let someone else takeover so they can rob you, build up massive debts and do the same all over again. NO water should be NATIONALISED. RT if you agree.

Latest YouGov survey on UK attitudes to trading with the EU - asked who you would rather have as a close trading partner, 53% chose the EU and 21% the US. We guess that's likely to tilt further in favour of the EU. Starmer and Lammy take note yougov.co.uk/topics/inter...

We couldn't agree more!

Ed Davey, "This new deal can include a reciprocal Youth Mobility Scheme, giving our young people incredible opportunities to live, work and travel across Europe" "Also boosting British employers to recruit the workers they need: hospitality, construction, the creative industries and care"

A quiet but ultimately satisfying Saturday evening just chilling to the 2013 live set of The Snow Goose by Camel, a sublime piece of music.

Private equity reduces patient healthcare, enriches investors, US Senate report finds. Cuts staffing/wages, profiteers, neglects investment, harms patients. Yet UK handed, social care, GP surgeries, NHS to PE. 30%-40% of money vanishes in profits. End the scam. www.nbcnews.com/news/investi...

We can't let British democracy turn into a plaything for overseas billionaires with short attention spans. At PMQs, I urged the Prime Minister to work with us to make sure power always sits with the voters, not wealthy foreign oligarchs.

At least, one Opposition Party Leader knows what is right!

🚨NHS dentistry has effectively ceased to exist for new patients The government has so far offered no timetable for key pledges: ❌700,000 urgent dental appts ❌Dental Contract Reform @thebda.bsky.social is calling for urgent action if NHS dentistry is to be saved youtu.be/UtqAtGAnuC0?...

To cut a long story short, before Brexit we had EU water quality regulation with teeth. Now we have UK regulation and it's toothless.

“Just three companies, News Corp (Murdoch family), Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT, Viscount Rothermere) and Reach plc, control over 80% of daily newspaper circulation… The hyper-rich continue to invest huge sums in acquiring control of media” We need a free press - ie free from the billionaires.

We’re advertising on buses at Heathrow Airport for all of 2025 and spreading the message about Byline Times.

A real honour to have been awarded the Sir David Amess Award for MP of the Year by the Industry and Parliament Trust in the Speaker’s House with the Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

As I keep saying we need to make @bsky.app the biggest social media platform on the planet, we need to do it with urgency & we need to send Elon Musk and Nigel Farage packing

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Obscenity Clause, is that Santa’s Evil Twin?

"I can't see a model for the future of humanity that I like coming out of China, India or The States. But I can see it in Europe."

Looking at the various factions and the territories they hold, will Syria remain a single nation, it was always a construct put together by a Franco/UK agreement?

“For the sake of Britain, Europe and humanity, it’s time for us to get back with the European team” Me for Byline Times on what Trump’s election means for US-UK-EU relations.

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has ÂŁ3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant per person of ÂŁ10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.
