While the gospels say that Judas led the Romans to Jesus, a new theory is gaining traction with some Biblical scholars. There is evidence, some say, that Judas merely shared Christ's location on an insecure group chat that accidentally included several Roman officials and journalists.

“They don’t view an honest discussion of policy as something they need to slow down and do.” We’re digging into the Trump team’s logic, or lack-there-of, with @petebuttigieg.bsky.social.

Abusers have patterns: they will, at times, stop kicking you in the stomach, or choking you, or beating the crap out of you for spells of time, and then expect you to be very grateful (excessively, flamboyantly) that they stopped beating, choking or kicking. And if you don't, they get outraged.

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

This is what happens when too many people would rather hurt others than help themselves. Literally nobody in America is benefitting from this.

This is really unfair to everyone who just voted for him for the racism.

You had us at "a book of spells, the key to wonders."

I hope I may speak for my fellow historians of the Great Depression when I say: you do not want our expertise to be relevant

People gonna be trying to pay rent with their hatred of pronouns.

"Clearly, everybody is very excited about how baseball was invented a few years ago, but ask yourselves, is my strikeout really the primary thing this town should focus on? Our schools are underfunded, and our mayor is an openly corrupt idiot."

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns. Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity. It’s been the plan for decades.

Thank you, President Trump! Our long national nightmare of accurate weather forecasts is coming to an end! “There’s no question it will lead to errors. It’s just a matter of how bad will it be... We know these things help with forecasts, so why are we cutting them?” www.nbcnews.com/science/scie...

Imagine calling yourself the master race and have to resort to erasing the achievements of minorities to make yourself feel better.

I wonder who gave Trump the power to do whatever the fuck he wants to judges?

I know how much Irish people hate when people in the US, UK, or Canada talk about how they are 12% Irish, or whatever. But everybody having some Irish heritage means one thing: Irish people have a reputation as the most prolific shaggers in history. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, you rides. 😘

einstein sent this to curie in 1911 when she was being harassed by tabloids. it contains everything you’d want in such a letter: (1) your haters are trash (2) you’re a baller, a true queen (3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

Only 6.6% of countries are full democracies. Canada is one of them. That's something to be proud of. Something worth fighting for. *Data comes from a division of The Economist. The report is interesting reading if you're worried about the state of modern politics.

Published in 1899, Kate Chopin’s landmark feminist novel, “The Awakening” is a frank examination of desire, motherhood, and gender roles. Its radical portrayal of self-discovery is still pertinent today. Professor Rachel Adams & author @erinentrada.bsky.social join me @11aET on #VelshiBannedBookClub

In new episode of #SistersInLaw, we discussed the arrest of Columbia protester Mahmoud Khalil, the targeting of global law firms, and SCOTUS case on conversion therapy. Plus, Joyce’s new book that offers ways we can save democracy.

Today Trump has tainted the Great Hall at the Department of Justice with baseless lies of weaponization of law enforcement and Jan 6 “hostages.” This is a dark day in American history.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Senate Democrats, I implore you: hold the line, and demand a clean, bipartisan short-term bill that we all can support to keep the government open. Thank you @maddow.msnbc.com for discussing with me tonight.

Merkley: "The best time to take on a tyrant is as early as possible. And this is the moment."

Disgusting.

Republicans’ partisan spending bill turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk. It’s unthinkable that any Senate Democrat would hand them a blank check by voting for cloture.
