I've read the opinion closely. All it does it foreclose two grounds for challenging state bans under the Equal Protection Clause--that they constitute "classifications" based on (a) sex and (b) transgender status. There are many other reasons discrimination against trans people may be illegal! 2/x

This huge change to federal law is particularly important in the women's health space, as old regulatory actions protecting women are coming under legal scrutiny. Written with a wonderful student Sonya Chechik. Largely for a medical audience - attempting to minimize legal jargon.

We need higher education leaders now who can wage an urgent national campaign for American public opinion, convincing Americans that destroying our higher education system is a disaster, and that Trump is wrong to do it. It's a huge test, for leaders chosen for pretty much unrelated reasons.
