It's Bryce Papenbrook. Man, FF9 fully voiced with Bryce reprising Zidane (reprising from Dissidia granted). How cool would that be?

being angry is the condition for you to immediately stop trusting them, why are you listening to anyone on reddit? Or TikTok? Or YouTube? Or even yourself? The "actors were bad" position also comes from anger, and seems to have morphed into hatred, so why should you listen to it by your logic?

Moreover, that situation, regardless of how it was handled, never made the strike invalid. That kind of thinking is simply illogical and childish. AI protections still need to exist, Hoyo still needs to protect their actors (no they haven't signed other protections, that's made up), and if people...

I know some of you are thinking this because that was me when the first strike broke out in 2023 or w/e, though not quite that hardline. But that's not how this works. While Jacob's situation could've been handled better, people don't act well while angry. And that was ANGER, not hate.

are the folks like you who want to use it as justification for attacking the union because you feel inconvenienced by the strike and think you have a "got'cha". You think "ah ha! I knew this union was bad, they bullied this guy" because you're annoyed union characters are quiet in hoyo games.

Telling him he did something wrong isn't bullying. It's a lot of people telling him he did something wrong. And yes, he did something wrong. And nobody wanted him to do anything more than reflect on that. It's also an extremely minor thing at the end of the day and the only people haven't moved on

"The actors are inconveniencing me and I want them to go back to work" is what most of that argument actually means.

Gets even crazier because if your observation is that it's up, but someone else's is that it's down, both are correct.

Being cruel to cruel people doesn't make you better, it just makes more cruel people.

dissimilar to what English VAs are in. Of course those people are in Singapore so how things are going for them is kind of a different wheelhouse, but everyone puts work in, and I'm going to appreciate it. I interact minimally with the community, and honestly they mean nothing to me anyways.

Besides, that train ended 15 years ago. Book 7 came out, that was really where it ended for me. Wrapped things up, everyone tried to move on, but got dragged back in anyways.

Like, I think there's plenty of roles Jacob would be great for, but I don't think Kinich is one of them.

But she's not union. So I tweeted her to try and fact check my own conclusions.

I know that doesn't mean much from a fan, but even fi-core aside, your circumstances are very understandable and American healthcare is infamous. I don't think you've done anything wrong; you just have the dubious fortune of being the exception instead of the rule.

That's the concept anyways. Again, think the film Bug's Life from Pixar. The ants vs. the grasshoppers. There's many more ants/workers than grasshoppers/managers. But if any of the ants decide to work for the grasshoppers anyways, that's a problem.

such that ANY script change is viewed by some as bad, even when it's the minor ones necessary to make dialogue intelligible in a different language to the one it was written in and carry the same meaning.

My best guess for a major factor is 4Kids left a long shadow over things. There was a reason for the changes they made, I've heard (they localized the shows for multiple regions and networks, so they had a very strict content line to stay under). But it left a distaste for script changes I think...

Unfortunately for all of us, this is Japan's ball court and there's not much anyone can do about it here. Fortunately, Japan's government, though conservative, is normal and not fascist and insane. So better chance of Japanese workers getting federal protections and things.

And just to clarify: no I'm not meaning any disrespect to Jacob as a VA and certainly not as a person, and this is intended to be independent of any of the circumstances of the job switch itself.
