Interesting watching some of this afternoon‘s debate on violence against women and girls in the Commons. Many more men taking part than tended to happen in such debates when I was in Parliament. Some very moving speeches by those who have experienced violence.

Wonderful nine lessons and carols in Ripon Cathedral yesterday evening - the choir sang a whole range of old carols. The music and singing was beautiful.

This large window dominates the library landing of Ripon Cathedral. It depicts Ruth and Naomi within an elaborate gold, shield-like frame, like a wall memorial but in glass. It’s from 1957 and seems on a cusp, being neither wholly traditional nor modern in style. #AdventWindows Day 10.
