This is absolutely something I needed to hear today. Thank you, @alwayscoffee.bsky.social!

financial advice in a weird time: -- develop a plan -- find friends who support you -- preferably 10 of them -- steal $160 million from the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the MGM Grand -- yes those are Terry Benedict's casinos -- get your wife back -- one of the friends should be Don Cheadle btw simple

I have more than enough t-shirts in my closet, but this one was way too good to resist.

Good gods, this one wrecked me in the best possible way. Just a brilliant addition to this fantastic series.

Chuck Schumer Helps Pull Democrats Back From Brink Of Courage

Oh, FFS.

old Soviet joke for our times: Guy stops by the newsstand every day, scans the front page, doesn’t buy the paper. One day the vendor asks what he’s up to. Guy says: “looking for an obituary.” Vendor says “those are towards the back of the paper, comrade.” Guy says: “not the one I’m looking for.”

don’t know who needs to hear this but empathy doesn’t require eagerness. you don’t have to be excited about helping other people, you do it because it’s right and because the alternatives are worse

Has anyone else turned down a vendor meeting because the company's name was too dumb? I mean, they also have "Powered by AI!" plastered all over their site, which is admittedly a better reason to say no, but if I'm honest the name was a dealbreaker even before I looked at the website.

“After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay and lesbian and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and minorities. Once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends… what comes next?” - Gov. JB Pritzker

I have a feeling that my favorite installment from this essay series will just be whichever one I've read most recently. So it is here, with these gorgeous words from Peter S. Beagle.

Learned some disheartening things about my employer this week, so much of the past 2 days has been spent making a few people much higher on the org chart than me squirm. Seeking accountability from those in power is an important muscle to exercise, so I'm glad to do it. I'm real tired, though.

This. People care. So many folks are trying. And holding up a light to the darkness. So many are encouraging each other to do the same. You don't see all the activism, all the care. But it's there.

Began the day with some supportive work and then a lovely little Imbolc ritual with a handful of friends. Among other things, it was a useful reminder that community is at the center of how we survive hard times. Reaching out and asking for help is a powerful act of magic in itself.

The first Senators to actually do anything about the Trump admin

We fight much harder for someone or something we still care about & believe in, than something we already gave up on. The most vital thing to do in the face of a deluge designed to overwhelm is to -not- give up. We must persistently care about & protect what we cherish & know is worth fighting for.
