It’s important to give credit where it’s due. The Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act was signed into law in 1883 by VP turned President Chester Arthur, a shock to all, and much needed given the status quo at the time. A very relevant bit of history to learn. www.cbsnews.com/news/preside...

Does anyone have an address in Ohio that someone could boop beep into the GPS and drive to where they can just pull over, be completely alone with no one within hearing range, to scream into the void as loud as possible for as long as needed? Asking for myself.

Todays hero

What if every American sends an email about 5 things we did last week?

So far, the most interesting story has been that of the Spencers (yes, of the Diana variety). I love history.

I’ve spent this week binging so much Hulu and Netflix because I can barely move. Last night I started Million Dollar American Princesses, a Smithsonian docuseries about the American heiresses that infused the British monarchy with money by marrying Dukes and Lords in the 1800’s.

The plague has caught up to me. Day 2 of being stuck in bed watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has come to an end. The NyQuil will soon take me off to the planet of creepy dreams, but at least it is sleep.

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F$&K.

Musk’s staffers are accessing the heavily guarded Internal Revenue Service (IRS) system, which contains detailed financial information on every taxpayer, business, and nonprofit in the country.

Correct. This is a President of the United States declaring himself a dictator. And instead of Americans understanding that we’re now under imminent threat of martial law and tyranny, we’ll get a month of think pieces about what the President of the United States meant by his UNAMBIGUOUS statement.

On Feb. 14th I try always to give honor to one of the greatest contributors to American democracy in our nation’s history, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, Douglass never knew his actual birthdate, and adopted Feb. 14th as the day. His penetrating insights about our country inspire me daily.

Why is it that every time I get my brows threaded, I feel like I go from a horrifying troll to an ethereal goddess? It’s like magic.

Well Paddington in Peru was very cute. I laughed, I teared up, and I ate all my curly fries. A most excellent Valentine’s Day date with myself. ☺️

Got a little wacky and went for curly fries instead of popcorn bc ADVENTURE.

It’s been months and I still can’t stop listening to Lola Young’s Messy on repeat. The most relatable song.

Aaand I just ran into my bathroom door bc the lights were out and I didn’t realize I closed it earlier. Oopsie poopsie. And also ouch.
