Talkin' about old games, mostly Sega. They let me talk on the HG101 Podcast sometimes by mistake. He/him/they/them, these are all fine.

I just found out who published the trilogy re-release and lol

I'm on both game discussions for some reason.

this game, is very important.

Check out our discussion of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure! Also on this episode, my fellow #HG101 hosts discuss the rhythm game maimai! #podcast #RhapsodyAMusicalAdventure #maimai sites.libsyn.com/240854/rhaps...

I was gonna use my days off to maybe start playing Splatoon 3 finally (I played a good amount of Splatoon 2 years ago but hadn't jumped on 3 yet) with the new patch and all, and instead I've been playing through Captain Toad after years of just stopping after the first few levels of episode two.

I'm working myself into a shoot real bad with this

I don’t want to imagine the hypothetical person who might exist that would willingly subject themselves to this.

This does sound like I'm being an asshole about maybe a younger person not knowing older things exist, but it's more about how to ask a question. There aren't that many "firsts" in media anymore, so what should be asked is "what else has done this particular thing?"

This is probably my most positive spin, but I think its relevant; the weird rage act for retro games is (mostly) irrelevant. You can't make your YouTube buxx getting mad over Battletoads anymore. A lot of gaming's past is free from relevancy and thusly free from rote monetization content.

Should note that I don’t have much memory about the two sequels since I rented them once ages ago and that was enough for me. That first one? Played it on the Saturn ages ago. No longer have that port. At some point in the ‘00s, I cursed myself with a particularly cheap (at the time) collection…

Folks who have heard Gex memes for decades but weren't around to play the games when they were relevant will finally be able to on modern platforms and I am curious how disappointed they will be.

Computer, write up my confirmation biases so I can win an online argument, I'm too busy jerking off to think.

On the one hand, Nintendo not doing a general Nintendo Direct during SGF is kind of weird from the perspective of every other publisher wanting or needing to hitch their marketing to the Doritos Pope's advertising extravaganza. On the other hand, you know what, fuck SGF.

I think about how Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 are the only two games in the series readily available on PC and modern-ish platforms. VC2 and VC3 were both PSP games, and only VC2 got an English localization. Not sure why they never got ported up; allegedly they were popular in Japan at least.

Is Boss Baby the only movie that incorporates video, audio, and narrative in a prerecorded package to tell a story?

Apparently it sold well, which is odd because out of all the first-party Nintendo games I've seen over the years, this is one where I see it on sale way more often than any other.

I'm always seeing that Super Mario RPG remake on sale. Did that game sell poorly? Did the Smash fans that kept yelling for Geno not buy the game once they saw "RPG" on the title? This investigation is my pitch for a "Hard Copy" reboot.

Okay, the third episode is real shit. This is what I wanted.
