No, I didn't mean to imply that it's 100%, but I see that I really didn't specify that. Mea culpa. But I have yet to hear any other explanation that makes the "it's a choice" stance seen like an even remotely reasonable perspective.

I finally heard a perspective that I understand: that they are all feeling these same impulses but are willfully stifling them, and therefore they believe that being queer is absolutely a matter of choice rather than something they should be embracing themselves. And that terrifies me.
