We apologize to our Ukrainian supporters. We are embarrassed by how our president and vice president have behaved. We are fighting to redeem the soul of America. 🇺🇸

Some adults in their late 50s or 60s may have gotten an early measles vaccine that turned out not to convey lasting immunity. Read about that (and all things #measles) in my latest NatGeo article. (No paywall) www.nationalgeographic.com/health/artic...

How we did it: Texas Won’t Study How Its Abortion Ban Impacts Women, So We Did

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social someone smart and media savvy needs to start holding daily news conference on the true facts and impacts, like Andrew Cuomo did for Covid. Why not you?

That's quite a world view they've got there: If minorities/women are under represented in a field, it's fine because they lack talent and/or interest. If minorities/women are over represented in a field, it's a problem because white guys could do things better.

"So this is how liberty dies… " This graphic from @chrischirp.bsky.social 's brilliant article is a frightening demonstration of the damage Trump's administration has done in just 3 weeks to democracy, science, human rights and so much more. christinapagel.substack.com/p/so-this-is...

Americans need to be protesting outside the Senate before they confirm Kash Patel, who will inevitably “find” crimes to indict Dem politicians running in 26 and 28? Republican Senators are afraid of the violence of the MAGA crowd. We need to make them afraid of the voices of the rest of us!

Why aren’t we all protesting outside the Senate before they confirm Kash Patel, who will inevitably “find” crimes to indict Dem politicians running in 26 and 28? Supposedly Republican Senators are afraid of the violence of the MAGA crowd. We need to make them afraid of the voices of the rest of us!

I know my latest NatGeo piece is paywalled, but it's important to know that exposing young #kids to too much #sugar has lifelong #health consequences. Happy to send a PDF to anyone who's interested and doesn't subscribe. www.nationalgeographic.com/science/arti... #kidshealth #kidsnutrition

I love the way @wwattribution.bsky.social is putting numbers on the #climatechange influence on prominent weather disasters. Here's my NatGeo piece on their stats for the #LAWildfires. www.nationalgeographic.com/science/arti...

I had 3 home births and helped over 100 women birth at home. Not right for everyone but it should be a choice. #MyBodyMyChoice

For a national mag, still looking for a US woman who had a #heartattack #stroke #accident or other #health emergency made worse by living far from a hospital in a #healthcaredesert. Could be #rural, #NativeAmerican, #urbanblack or others. Please spread the word, and DM if this is you. Thanks!

Happy New Year

My latest Prevention mag article looking back at some great #healthbreakthroughs in the past year.

@sherylstein.bsky.social can you add me to your women’s fiction starter pack? My second novel Warrior Won was an Indy pub award winner. Book 3 on the way. Thanks!

Looking for an #indigenous US woman who had a #heartattack #stroke, #accident or other emergency but lives on #triballand far from treatment for an article for a large consumer health magazine. Thanks! #nativeAmerican #nativehealthcare

If you're a US woman who had a #heartattack, #stroke, #accident or other emergency but live far from a hospital in a #healthcaredesert, I'd love to interview you for an article for a national mag. This could be someone #rural, #NativeAmerican, #urbanblack or anyone else too far from care. Thanks

The #anti-aging drug #rapamycin boosts #lifespan & #healthspan in mice. But some people are taking the drug now and touting it on podcasts. I delve into the science behind rapamycin in my latest for NatGeo, which is paywalled but I'll send you a PDF www.nationalgeographic.com/science/arti...

For a national magazine article on #healthcaredeserts, I'm still trying to find a woman in the US who had a heart attack, stroke or accident who would have recovered better had she been closer to a hospital. Thanks!

All you #beer drinkers out there probably don't know you're downing an ingredient, hops, with numerous healthful properties! My National Geographic article is behind a paywall, but I'm happy to send a PDF to any interested imbibers :) www.nationalgeographic.com/science/arti... #Oktoberfest

For those who don’t closely follow #psychedelicmedicine, my latest for Good Housekeeping shows why the FDA denial of the first #psychedelic to seek approval in decades is a big defeat for people with #PTSD, who are mostly women www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/welln... #mentalhealth #womenshealth

Scientists have gotten really good at pinpointing exactly how much of a given extreme weather event was caused by #climatechange. And in some cases even whether your house would have been spared from flooding in a different world. My latest for NatGeo.

People should wean off #antidepressants over months or years, not a few weeks as doctors in the US recommend. My latest NatGeo piece breaks down this important science. #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthSupport #depression #anxiety #ptsd (Paywalled but I’m happy to share a PDF)

Whether we like it or not, #artificialintelligence isn't just coming to healthcare, in some ways it already arrived. I found this story fascinating to report for Prevention magazine. #AI #AIhealthcare

We often think kids when we think #foodallergies, but adults have a big and growing problem with this. My latest article for #PreventionMag also highlights ongoing research for possible cures

Demand is expected to explode for #psychedelic medicine among #veterans, especially if the FDA approves #MDMA which could happen over the summer. I write about veterans' unique therapy needs in the latest National Geographic

If it seems lots of people you know have had early #melanoma, it’s because research makes clear this condition is way #overdiagnosed. Annual #skincancer screens are a bad idea, experts told me for my latest NatGeo piece

Thousands of seniors are still dying of Covid-19. Do we not care anymore? | CNN www.cnn.com/2024/02/08/h...

My latest article for NatGeo is on the intriguing premise that we're talking about #climatechange wrong, focusing on temp when #sealevelrise is the more salient problem

I love everything I write, but I’m especially pleased with this @washingtonpost.com article in #psychedelics for people nearing #endoflife. #psilocybin #death #deathwithdignity #terminal #canada

I’m usually the one asking the questions, but here I'm interviewed by Charles Bliss on #psychedelicjournalism. #Psychedelics hold great promise for some #mentalhealth issues, but it's crucial #journalists don't get ahead of the science and buy into the ever-growing hype.
