Who would have thought that bending at the knee without a fight to the Trump administration might not appear to be a strong selling point for a law firm? finance.yahoo.com/news/microso...

A grotesque injustice by a cowardly company that deserves to be called out for its denigration of the constitution. And an illustration of Trump’s malign influence even beyond the targets of his reprisal agenda. popular.info/p/fortune-50...

NEW:Trump’s DC attorney nominee Ed Martin is apologizing, saying he didn’t know about the alleged Nazi sympathizer views of a Capitol rioter he repeatedly praised. But audio saved by CNN’s KFile shows Martin discussed those views on his podcast — undercutting his claims. www.cnn.com/2025/04/28/p...

With new Executive Orders targeting Chris Krebs (senior official who helped keep 2020 election secure) and law firm that won $788m settlement against Fox News. A must read from Weds, by Harold Koh. Discussing amicus brief signed by esteemed bipartisan former officials. Also a great history lesson

NEW: Yesterday, the Justice Department sent armed marshals to warn former U.S. pardon attorney Liz Oyer not to disclose internal DOJ information during her Senate testimony. Today, Oyer is speaking out to condemn the DOJ’s actions and defend the rule of law.

Boy, sure seems like it would be a fun day to be on a trading floor, huh.

“The Japanese American National Museum says Trump admin may withhold as much as $2 million approved by the Biden admin.” “Facing pressure to scrub its website of diversity and inclusion references, a JANM leader says the museum will ‘scrub nothing.’” www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

Participating in a #handsoff protest in a small town yesterday was tremendously gratifying. I was unsure what to expect, but joining several hundred people in the cold & rain to voice our dissatisfaction provided a real sense of solidarity. Much more work to do!

If we're not already there, we're soon getting to the point where general strikes are necessary.

Pam Bondi’s brother is running for DC Bar president. Ed Martin’s deputy is running for DC Bar treasurer. If like me you’re a DC lawyer who doesn’t usually vote in DC bar elections: time to start

Donald Trump has committed the most profound, harmful and unnecessary economic error in the modern era. Almost everything he said—on history, economics and the technicalities of trade—was utterly deluded econ.st/3YbbFjq

"Just figured out where these fake tariff rates come from. They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did. Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us.

Huh, weird

Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports. A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

A Russian scientist who opposed Putin’s war, fled Russia and found work at Harvard was detained at Logan Airport returning from a French academic conference and has been sent to an immigration detention center in Louisiana for deportation to Russia. www.currenttime.tv/a/rossiynka-...

These are the senators who collaborated with the GOP. Schumer Fetterman Cortez Masto Durbin King Shaheen Gillibrand Schatz Hassan Peters Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.

The even worse thing about @schumer.senate.gov 's collaboration with the Republican budget is that with each statement he makes, he's setting up Dems to look bad no matter how the vote turns out. He's been played so thoroughly that he should simply be as quiet as he's been for the past 50+ days.

@schumer.senate.gov 's weakness is so deeply shameful. A yes vote is a vote of approval on the dismantling of the US government. For shame. Your complicity will be your legacy.

That Teen Vogue is doing some of the best political journalism in the United States right now is not something I would have ever foreseen. I love it. Please keep up the fantastic, incredibly important work, Teen Vogue!

1. The DOGE website is garbage. The claimed savings has no relationship to the data provided. And the data that is provided grossly inflates the savings from each canceled contract. So we just launched our own site — the Musk Watch DOGE Tracker — that breaks everything down.

If ICE agents are in your college dormitory, know your rights.

This is fascism. If you've ever wondered what you would do, now is the moment when you find out. If there is a protest, go to it. If not, organize one. Call Congress. If you have a microphone, now is the time to use it. The historical record is crystal clear. This will not stop here.

@jahimes.bsky.social Why did you vote to censure Rep. Green?

* Stopping cyber operations vs Russia * Offering up Ukraine on a platter * Starting a trade war with our closest allies * Mass firings in intel, FBI * Shutting down task forces fighting foreign influence + corruption What are we supposed to call all of this? How many dots do you need to connect?

Trump is an embarrassment.
