Press sec needs to be asked about whether Trump has promised or given pardons to Elon and DOGE staff for all the laws they are breaking.

Zelensky has led the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression for over 3 years. He has aged 30 years in that time. And there he sits in the Oval Office with two mindless gorillas threatening him and shouting utter nonsense at him. Never in my life have I seen anything so undignified.

Dark Pence is back.

“These new hires come after the terminations of hundreds of FAA probationary employees, and the most deadly month of US aviation disasters in more than a decade. ….none of the SpaceX engineers were fully vetted by their start date.” www.wired.com/story/faa-do...

Congrats, America. We're now on Putin's side.

I suspect we’re going to be hearing more stories about failing farmers having their land bought for cheep—it’s not a coincidence. Is this why USAID was cut—to make way for billionaires?! Watch til the end and keep an eye on national parklands too. 🧵

How very Christian

Just to be clear, because I don’t think the Post story highlights it enough: This was Trump’s day-one pick to lead the Social Security Admin until his nominee got confirmed who RESIGNED a career job rather than do what Musk’s DOGE team wants. This is Treasury (DOGE) and DOJ (Adams) all over again.

Nothing says "I support democracy" like an oligarch whining that law-abiding protestors should be thrown in jail on President's Day. #elon #presidentmusk #uspoli #presidentsday #protests #usa #aoc #bernie #trump #potus #doge #donaldtrump #berniesanders #musk #elonmusk #vptrump

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

This WaPo piece has something valuable inside: the names of some of the grownups running DOGE behind the scenes. The Incels are a distraction. These people are real. It'd be helpful for people in the agencies to ID anyone from DOGE for...reasons. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

🤔

New from me — “What it comes down to is the removal of choice, especially when it comes to established health care. People should not have to suffer the anguish of being denied life-saving drugs because a couple of guys have decided to apply conspiracy theories instead of established science.”

And for the third straight day, the rest of the legacy media did nothing to stand up for the First Amendment. No boycott, no walkout, nothing but business as usual. Then, they wonder why people are canceling subscriptions and turning off their TV's while independent news outlets are thriving.

I’d like to remind everyone, ad nauseam, that actual hillbillies were warning folks about this crank nine years ago—but the likes of Oprah, the NYT, Ron Howard, and even Olaf Scholz praised him for—get this—a book all about blaming poor people for their misfortunes.

The rise of the far-right must be seen for what it is: a hate-based campaign of violent extremism. Democratic calls to appease this extremism are no less absurd than suggesting countries beat Al Qaeda by joining it.

More fire power from both sides of the aisle.

👀 “I understand my duty as a prosecutor to mean enforcing the law impartially, and that includes prosecuting a validly returned indictment regardless whether its dismissal would be politically advantageous, to the defendant or to those who appointed me.” - Former Acting USA, SDNY Danielle Sassoon.

This is all a good reminder that, “no help, no votes until the criminal conduct stops” is neither a big ask nor a politically perilous one.

This is incredible. The source code for the new DOGE “official US government website” points to X as its primary source of authority. Sharing links to the DOGE site sends users to x dot com. www.wired.com/story/doge-w...

There is literally HIV being transmitted from mom to baby because of the illegal shutdown of US AID and now Trump’s State Department wants to spend 400 million dollars on Tesla cyber trucks. This is not about efficiency. It’s a smash and grab.

"It is a government of billionaires, by billionaires, for billionaires... I can't think of a parallel... DOJ, SEC, were investigating Musk companies, that all goes away now, and he makes money at the same time." I was on MSNBC with @joyannreid.bsky.social tonight, talking Elon Musk & corruption.

A coalition of news organizations said in a court filing that video exhibits from a Jan. 6 riot case had "disappeared" from a government platform that provided access to evidence used in court.

We talk endlessly about Hitler, but not much about Mussolini. What if Mussolini's rise has more parallels with today's far right? An interview with Joe Knight, director of the new (five-star) TV drama, Mussolini: Son of the Century on.ft.com/4hOyT6c

The way an executive branch that respects the rule of law objects to a district court ruling it doesn’t like is to *appeal* it, not to imply that the ruling just shouldn’t be followed.

Waste and fraud? Has the Pentagon dropped its investigation into Musk's abuse of its own reporting rules? newrepublic.com/article/1913...

The hostages could have been home months ago. Netenyahu sabotaged the deal.

Just to say the quiet part out loud, the point of having unelected judges in a democracy is so that *whether* acts of state are “legitimate” can be decided by someone other than the people who are undertaking them. Vermeule knows this, of course. So does Vance.

You'd think the headline would point out this helps Musk by cutting off competition. These story only hints at that 12 paragraphs in. #BrokenPost Trump administration orders states to halt EV charging programs www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...

Jasmine Crockett, after accusing colleagues of castrating their Constitutional duty, said, “My job is to make sure we don’t have any kings or queens in this country, but it seems like you all have decided it’s going to be Mr. King and his queen. And y’all can pick which one is which.”

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

Musk and his coup are very unpopular. People who oppose it have much to gain. newrepublic.com/article/1911...
