Yesterday Mahmoud and his nephew Ahmad were arrested after the book shop was raided by Israeli police in a clear act of political repression. This is outrageous, and a clear act of violent state repression of political thought. 4/x

I met the owner Mahmoud when I last lived in Jerusalem, when he took the time to come speak to a group of rabbinical students at the Fuchsberg Center about his store and their mission. The bookshop is a hub of activism, learning, culture, and great coffee. 2/x
