Help! Our nonprofit is a Google prisoner! We have a Google Ads grants account, but can’t access it. I’ve been through their reclamation process, but it doesn’t work. No help, no option for help. If you have guidance on how to connect in this circumstance, by any means, please DM me!

How it started (sweating from questions from actual journalists) … how it’s going (doing the broligarch logroll)

It snowed. It’s not like there’s a violent mob outside beating up cops who are desperately trying to protect members of Congress inside.

Irony would like a word.

Well said.

An important point.

Love this photo of John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Muhammad Ali at Jimmy Carter’s inaugural gala.

Fructose is a dose-dependent mitochondrial toxin, just like alcohol...

Jimmy Carter leaves the Southern Baptist Convention in 2009: “Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the Word of God.” He continues to teach his regular Sunday School class in Plains, Ga.

This is completely as known by anyone who has spent the slightest amount of time in academia in ANY field.

Sometimes, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. But not with Dennis Overbye, who’s retiring from the Times. I’ve long been grateful for his combination of universe knowledge and ability to express beautifully. His valediction: www.nytimes.com/2024/12/20/s...

Andrew, your point is very good. It’s revolting. However. It was American voters who “normalized” the winning candidate. One job of “corporate media” role is to cover American politics. The asshole is now the president-elect. Deal with it.

Who does paid workshops for universities about PhD dissertation writing, for a US STEM audience? This is not my area and I'd love your recommendations, including self-recommendations! Repost to help others see this.

open.substack.com/pub/michaelg... Would love your thoughts.

Note to nonprofits: It is rude when the next thing you do after receiving a gift is to ask for another one. Sending that “Thank you, sir, may I have another” just means I’m less likely to give to you the next time. PS, I chair a nonprofit.

Kroger and Albertsons claimed they wanted to merge into one grocery giant in order to keep prices low. But after the merger was blocked, they approved spending a combined $10 billion on stock buybacks. They each paid their CEOs over $15 million in 2023, by the way. Hello?

It makes me sad that almost everyone who follows me is a young woman apparently working BlueSky as some sort of sex beat. Feels worse than no attention at all.

Stanley issued a recall of about 2.6 million travel mugs after concerns that loose lids could lead to burn injuries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Frank Bruni is just a super-clever writer! From today’s newsletter, about Trump cologne: “Before this week, such musings might have seemed off-topic. Now they’re on the nose.” -and- “…wearing it presumably means that you’ll pass nasal muster with the king of bluster.”

So did this headline — more so than Wolf’s moves, which had *their* ups and downs.

I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime. CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

Today's lesson discusses the American health care system for those in countries where their system provides care for free or reasonable fees. 👇

Please.

He praised the owner of the platform. The owner then reposted it to his over 200 million followers and used his algorithm to boost it just like he did to manipulate the election. And the take on that it is, ‘look how many people agree with me that Musk is right.’ Pretty damn sad.
