For the first time in the United States, the invasive longhorned tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) has been found carrying Ehrlichia chaffeensis, the bacterium that causes human monocytic ehrlichiosis (HME), a potentially life-threatening disease.

Pulled a groin muscle assembling an office chair. Has been hurting for several weeks and wakes me up most nights. No fun. No fun getting old. Tonight-heat, muscle relaxer, ibuprofen. The muscle relaxer must have kicked in because I don't remember what I was going to say about all of this???

I've officially been moved to the project team and, for the first time in almost 40 years, am not part of the lab. It feels really strange and I'm not sure how to process it. There will be a transition process but it's weird - will still be in the same office but duties will be completely different

RFK Jr. has just removed every member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). These members review vaccine data and make approval recommendations. This is completely horrifying and will likely delay vaccine approvals. RFK Jr. must be removed from office IMMEDIATELY.

My brother found that the house was built in 1790. The kitchen was plumbed but there was no bathroom-outhouse only. Coal heat and wood stove in the kitchen to cook. They moved to a newer house in 1963 w/ the same amenities & I remember when they put an indoor toilet in several years later.
