Also listened to the Shedunnit podcast on Margery Allingham; apparently these aren't like other Golden Age mysteries πŸ€”

Finally 60% in. It's much less Gothic and much more action adventure than I expected

And thank *you* for running such an excellent one shot. I loved my goth bee druid

Ok the xenophobia still going strong in this book lol but LOVE the escalation β€” things are going DOWN in this old crumbling house. Golden age mysteries that veer into the Gothic or (anachronistic) thriller genres are so fun because of how camp they feel to the modern reader

I kept talking feral points because I wanted to succeed in leading my pack. Eventually my wolf lost their grasp on humanity in the final roll and never escaped their wolf form. But it was worth it because they helped their fellow prisoners escape πŸ’œ

My favourite part of the game is the feral score mechanic: the higher your feral score, the better you are at being a wolf and succeeding rolls in wolfish ways. But that also means that you start acting more like a wolf and less like a human. The moves keep luring you with options to gain more feral

We freed a wizardess-turned-moose with antlers covered in eyes and accidentally unleashed a swarm of squirrels controlled by hive mind wild magic

Two friends saying "what's up" to each other. Didn't realize this slang was already prevalent in the 1920s

Ok classic xenophobia so far, a lot of the "these foreigners are ugly and scary". Typical of works from this time and place
