Speaking of cool Consent Mechanics, I'm experimenting with some positive consent models in Can You Host? Giving players a way to ask for what they want, and a way to signal something isn't for them without bringing things to a hard stop, but rather redirecting the narrative.

Mum Chums, my slice of life #ttRPG about the people who care for kids, is now live on Kickstarter. If you like your gaming with a strong emotional core, back it today!

Rising Action, the first ttrpg I've ever completed, is out now! It's a duet game where you play a pair of rivals having an ever-escalating battle where their past and passions collide. Inspired by action anime/games and uses a deck of playing cards! akis-perspectives.itch.io/rising-action

Hey #TTRPG folks! I didn't see one already, so I created an Asian American / Pacific Islander (AAPI) in tabletop roleplaying games starter pack to build community, and added the minimum to get started. If you'd like to be added (or removed), just let me know! go.bsky.app/AP6Shtn

It was so fun getting to play Game Over at #PAXUnplugged with KMS Games. #jubensha are just such a good time, especially if you're into feeling like a real detective and solving mysteries. It was lovely chatting with Caleb to learn more about their process for creating original English jubenshas!

Yesterday, I released an update to B'town Beak-tectives, a seagull noir TTRPG. Please check it out!

10 things scripted reality tv teaches us about role-playing. This is about games which foreground character drama (Monsterhearts) and those times you want a bit of character drama in your dungeon. 10 ways to create more drama and story in your messy relationship games. Enjoy! 1/11

Round 2 of Band or Horses, U-S-A Edition. They're either horses that have raced in the Kentucky Derby, or bands that have appeared on Pitchfork's 100 Best Songs of the Year. 1. Horse Lords 2. Solomini 3. Overmono 4. Lone Sailor 5. Pale Blue

There's a thing that happens in Wolfspell that I want to put into my current game design. It happens in that moment between character creation and playing the game (however you wish to define either of those and the space between).

The retrospection continues! I tempt Quinns back onto Yes Indie'd to talk about the year that was. Fun twist: We are now both full-time in RPGs. Not true at the start of the year! Less fun twist: We can't tell if it was a good year for games or not! creators.spotify.com/pod/show/yes...

Played Wolfspell by @epidiah.bsky.social at PAX Unplugged and omg? It's so fun??? We got turned into wolves by a sorcerer tyrant for their menagerie and spent the whole game enacting prison break

Go subscribe to the Indie RPG Newsletter if you haven't already done so!

Omg???

This month, we read "Sound Check", a game about being in a band by Misha Grifka Wander and Envi Wiklund. You can find the episode here: open.spotify.com/episode/1Aaw...

Just updated The Lure, my Monsterhearts skin about playing a seductive, vulnerable, and controlling tentacle monster 😁 Kind of want to play Monsterhearts again... mightyyshrimp.itch.io/the-lure

Ahh it's finally out! It was so fun to play Village Witch and I can't wait to hear everyone else's games Love that this podcast specifically does actual plays of SOLO games. If you haven't already, give it a listen!
