Who gives a flying toss what mark Francois has to say about anything?

Ok, so he’s proved himself as the People’s Vigilante on the Tube. What’s he actually done in his constituency of Newark-upon-Trent?

If you treat the Bible as an instruction manual (as some indubitably do) you’ve demonstrated very little understanding of what it actually is.

No, you’re literally not. I’m a Christian and can’t see anything wrong in any of what you’ve told me about yourself. It was Archbishop Robert Runcie who said that the Christian Church is like a swimming pool. All the noise comes from the shallow end. Ignore the noise.

So, do these atrocities take place before or after I’ve been to church on a Sunday? I seem to have missed them. Yes, Christianity has been responsible for some bad stuff, but lay off the hysteria. It does you no favours.
comment in response to post
Not specifically Christian, but I take your point.

And still the likes of Fabricant butt in with their dog whistles

Well, if it’s gross incompetence and hatred you want to know about, I suppose Trump is your go-to man.

Old King Cole was the merry old soul. You’re thinking of the Grand Old Duke of York. Another mate of Jeffrey Epstein.

However they’ve done it, it’s going to be an improvement on Badenoch scribbling something on the back of Farage’s fag packet.

It’s a Johnson peerage. Of very limited value.

All the enjoyment and none of the guilt. Well done.

Oh, Brexiters will whine. It’s in their DNA

I waited ninety minutes at AMS recently. The Brexit benefit was that I had a lovely conversation with the passport man, albeit increasing the wait of the hundreds still behind me.

Nothing would persuade me to buy anything promoted by Johnson. So I’ll just have to take your word for it that they’re nice.

The tories are what you’d get if PG Wodehouse turned his hand to tragedy.

Correction: they were in their twenties

In the same way everything went quiet when it was revealed that Paddington Bear got decapitated by two white RAF NCOs in their thirties.

The best thing about this is that he’s confident he can live comfortably on 1% of his wealth.

When I look at the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Belgium and the UK I really don’t think Trump is behaving anything like a king.
comment in response to post
I think you’re being a bit harsh on kings. We have several in Europe and they’re mostly respectful, amiable and responsible.

Well, if they’re not, they should

Everyone I was at school with got measles and everyone was ok. Of course, there was that kid who got taken to a different school because measles had made him deaf. But we never got to meet him.

Ratner was honest, at least

My mother let slip, almost as an aside, that eighteen of her classmates died of diphtheria in a very short time. She grew up in the thirties

I got ashed yesterday. The smudge didn’t even last the service. The way it should be to avoid looking like those Jesus called hypocrites

What a blissful existence it must be if you have to ask that question

Does the Toddler know he’s committed himself to a whole day of grown-up behaviour with Canada’s Head of State?

If you want to ignore all the eugenics stuff and revel in his lunacy, a joyful afternoon can be spent reading his ‘Plain Facts for Old and Young’.

Hasn’t he got a book about Shakespeare that needs writing?

I remember Mrs Thatcher patronising opponents with ‘what a silly man he is’.

Does Johnson do embarrassment?

Defrocking hasn’t happened since Harold Davidson was deprived of his living back in the 30s. Robinson has merely had his licence revoked. Davidson went on to be mauled by a lion whilst performing in a sideshow in Skegness - a fate I’d love to see visited on this Trumpist charlatan.

He’s more of a taker than a giver. I imagine it was on a strict ‘one strike and you’re out’ understanding.

The fact that he didn’t last five minutes provides at least a smidgen of mitigation

These pop-up pretend churches just call themselves what they like. Neither Anglican nor Catholic, but what the hell?

Credit to the CofE - they rumbled him and refused to ordain him.

When you consider what miserable cnuts the people who post this sort of thing often turn out to be, you have to ask yourself a few questions.

As Archbishop Robert Runcie once said, “The Church is like a swimming pool; all the noise comes from the shallow end”. Don’t underestimate the support for Mariann Budde.

UK and Commonwealth isn’t a bad gig but I wouldn’t want that snake pit in addition.
