If you're making it for yourself then it doesn't really matter. But as a sound designer, I'm letting you know it needs some touchups before a public release. The buildup sound can be very subtle, but it needs to be there. Toss a small bit of dry reverb with a decay of like 1 second and youre golden!

I recognize the games early state, but the current click in place is in harsh contrast to the atmosphere and ambience. A sound heard often needs some kind of lead into it. Example here, a wood block with a lighter I layered over it. The lone click overpowers the soundscape

Most microscopes don’t really click into place like that though. It’s a very smooth slow precise motion. If you really want to stick with a short clicking noise, it will need to be something very subtle. When my computer is more available to me, I can dm you and give a more extensive breakdown.

Your dynamism on your poses has gotten considerably better. Very impressive, and your proportions even more so. Very clean line art, very expressive artstyle. Your stuffs solid! You should be proud.

Could be fun if it leads the player by their current velocity to try and get a direct shot, forcing the player to go left or right while they move. Either way it sounds like a good tool to keep the player moving. Is the way to kill it to have it kill itself with its attack from above?

That means a lot to me. This was my first time doing sound effects for something and I plan to do a lot more. Having an amazing animation to work with helps a lot, obviously, so kudos to @misterferv.bsky.social for their awesome work.

I also can't seem to get any clips uploaded without that weird audio blip in the last 2 seconds. Happens on all the audio I put on blusky...

Honestly, I might not go with either of them. Switching the zoom have a smoother curve and having the accompanying sound be more of a constant hum that you increase the volume of based on speed may be better. This depends on the context a lot though. The click sound would be great for a menu

Thanks for the permission my man! Hope this does your animation some justice. I haven't had much practice with this so I hope to do more in the future.

100% agree. Elden Rings sticking to dark souls style NPCs progression was a misstep. Being vague is fine when you’re guaranteed to come across an npc on your path. But in an open world? Nah, I don’t even wanna bother with it now.

It’s fine in older games that are linear, but Elden Ring is a misstep in my opinion. The specific conditions to be met just to get NPCs where they need to be is genuinely difficult without guidance and it imo has no place in open world design. Terraria would be overwhelming with a guide. Just play

It got an anniversary update somewhat recently which I’m sure has people hoping it’s not forgotten. But for me, memorizing combos isn’t a skill gate, it’s a time gate. Killer instinct emphasizes on the fly decision making and I love that aspect and freestyle nature of how it flows.

I actually really like Riptor. What I’m noticing is she applies really good pressure and can kinda snowball to hold the advantage. But defensively they are limited. Feel like I don’t have good wake-up options and also no cross up. But a guess a cross up isn’t needed with that crazy dash she has.

I think this moreso refers to when a game has overtly complex mechanics or fails to explain them well. Fromsoft games for example, I don’t see a scenario where you just happen to talk to NPCs in the right order to move them along. You literally need a wiki to progress an npc and I’d argue that’s bad

Kinda like putting up a barrier for kids. “No-no, not that way.” But you gotta keep them thinking there’s nothing behind that veil.
