The unfairness that parents of cis athletes have been so worried about has now been actually inflicted on this girl, and it’s so much worse than being outdone by one exceptional athlete. She’s being crushed by the entire team here.

Plus, Nintendo isn’t competing against itself, and even the bundle is reasonably priced compared to the now years-old current consoles from Microsoft and Sony

The way he’s not only still making salient points but speaking emotionally and clearly is astounding

From the moment birdwatching was introduced into a murder mystery that took place at night, I knew I had to simply ignore the bird parts

And if you mistake something as artist-made when it’s AI and get called out for it, just delete it! It’s not a moral failing, and is easily remedied. But leaving it up is an endorsement of AI use.

It’s intensely frustrating to not have the art side of AI taken seriously. The way these models are built will be used to generate fake news imagery and propaganda for capitalism and fascism, and by using them we are supporting them. Stop giving them air.

I’m speaking primarily about reporters who are also covering misinformation as a serious topic - to do so while reposting AI is deeply hypocritical - but also about anyone who styles themself a reporter of the truth and then goes and reposts genAI.

For another, if reporters normalize reposting AI without disclosing that it *is* AI, how are we supposed to trust their reporting? How are we supposed to trust their judgement?

We would not see the iconic Obama Hope poster of 2008 if we had had this kind of genAI, and I am honestly not sure if the messaging would have been as successful without those designs.

For one, they’re primarily profiting the corporations who own the AI that made them. Those quippy AI images aren’t benefiting artists, or getting candidates to hire designers, and that means we aren’t moving these messages off the internet.

Then delete the post and don’t look like you do a bad job fact-checking?

This is a bananas response to a pretty level criticism. If I made a shit design choice in my life I would absolutely expect to receive criticism for it.
My being trans is irrelevant, and you bringing it up is a straw man argument.

Your bio says you’re a reporter/fact-checker, though - should you not be examining these things more thoroughly? I realize as an artist it’s maybe easier for me to spot AI than a layperson, but this feels like a lack of due diligence, as does keeping the post up after it’s been pointed out to be AI.

It is. Here’s the details that gave it away for me, but that left outstretched hand on the figure in the center also appears to have a sixth finger in there.

I really wanted to love this but it’s AI

I think this is great, and is a perspective that I hope is effective in drawing voters.

Love the detail of the ornamental wire around the outside - this is such a beautiful piece.

I feel the same way. Last summer I lost my grandmother, who was a parent figure to me - I’m still not all the way here most of the time. In some ways I imagine it’s helpful to have concrete tasks and a measurable goal and non-human teammates, but it must also be so hard.

It takes nothing to respect others’ feelings, especially other marginalized people. Nothing appears to be too much for you to accomplish.

We’re literally all trans people here right now, and yet for some reason Kathryn is being defended instead of the trans person who again, very gently asked not to reference JKR to trans people.

Hey maybe next time you could not interrupt at all, given that the tone policing was just a gentle request not to reference the works of a public transphobe.

More to the point, imagine a world where you've embraced generative AI to do writing for you, to make your art, and to give you information and data -- and then Elon Musk one day buys it, and now feeds you what he wants you to know, what he wants you to BELIEVE, every time you ask a question.
