Proud Boys?

We shorten names. We select for brevity. Coronavirus SARS COVID-19. Now it’s just “COVID.” It’s “January 6,” or “The Insurrection.” This period will be “The Coup.” There will have to be a Resistance of some moniker. There will inevitably be a toppling by another name. We should start brainstorming.

Can’t believe they forgave him after he pardoned all those J6 Antifa and BLM rioters.
You think they made those snazzy outfits, or do you suppose there’s a costume shop where you can buy a “Car Dealership on 4th of July Sale” costume?

This country is (all of) ours.
He can’t have it.

The stance I’ve maintained since 2015-ish is that republicans are the abusive father, and democrats are the passive mother who failed to protect the child.
I’ve never voted for a republican president, but I’ve never been excited to vote for their opponents. It’ll have to be MAGA v Progressives now.

He’s using an argument from incredulity to argue against the rule that the burden of proof is the responsibility of the person making the claim.

Fake incredulity is demonstrably effective. Hell, Tucker made a whole career out of it.
Durmph likely thought it was “back the blew” this whole time.

Proud boys would more prefer to be feared than respected.
Easy choice, I suppose, when you’re only familiar with the former and so can’t understand the latter. How am I supposed to respect that?
If ever commanded to do so,
I shall be unable to comply.

Because then they might figure out why eggs are so expensive, and they don’t want to lose that talking point.

Good bartender! And well handled. Not a time for pulling punches. Precedent must be set, and examples must be made.

Doesn’t want to disappoint his “secret” base. Just like when trump pretended not to know who david duke was.

This is admittedly reductive, but I AM a middle aged man, so… but I think it’s just become precedent. Pop culture favors the young - as the most insatiable consumers of social media - who in turn guide the social media market. The zeitgeist moves quickly now, like reels, swiped away for what’s new.

I wonder if trump will “save” it and pronounce himself the people’s champion (about another thing, and everything else, again, and goddamned constantly, until one of us dies first).

(Portrait of a desperate inner monologue)
“Try to look like you know what’s happening. Try to look like you know what’s happening. Try to look like you know what’s happening. Try to look like you know what’s happening. Try to look like you know what’s happening. Try to look like you know…..”

Somebody should tell him it was very big of him to thank Biden publicly like that.

This is some handy (and damned scary) information that I did not know, and definitely warrants further investigation. Thanx!

Yesterday is an example of how the democrats will handle this: they will smile like hurt children trying to be brave, and then do nothing. Or, more accurately, republicans are the abusive father, and democrats are the mother who stood by and never stopped it.

Half of us can’t answer that question but apparently feel really good about it, and the other half of us can’t believe that is a question that anyone would ever be compelled to ask, and we don’t feel so good.

Looks like Alfie Allen went back in time and married Judy Garland.
They were adorable.
He was a good man.
Helped a lot of people in his life.
Good legacy to leave.

My feed is absolutely inundated with AI rage-bait posts from engagement farming accounts already; been like that for the whole last year (especially prevalent during campaign months). It’s insufferable. It disincentivizes debate and discussion, which I believe is very much not an accident.
