Literally a “not all men” moment.

And here we are. They literally just don’t want us to exist. Black and white proof that it was never about bathrooms.

Peter’s looks like he’ll vote against it. Slotkin has been a massive disappointment, but she’s highlighting how the budget cuts Medicaid so maybe she recognizes the harm it will do.

You and Zooey are modern heroes. It’s such a delight to hear about the good some of us can do, the positive influence on the world that is still possible. Thanks for fighting for those of us who can’t.

“Woke fascists” Hilariously out of touch. She posted a picture of a child already at a greater risk for violence than her peers, her name, and the name of her school, specifically targeting her and potentially jeopardizing her safety. Then she refused to remove it when informed the danger.

We need to be more progressive, and to stop meeting the right half way. This is why American politics keeps shifting further and further right. Democrats try to save face and end up giving an inch every time Republicans ask for it. Here we are, a mile later.

All of which are accusations based on circumstantial evidence and hearsay. His “violent history” was a DV issue that his wife refuses to press charges after they handled the matter privately in therapy. He has still not been convicted of any crime.

Except you are assertinghe is a member of a terrorist organization. THAT’s where we disagree.

Criminal “facts” is a misnomer. This man has never been convicted of any crime. He has never been proven to be part of any “terrorist organization”. In the America, people are considered innocent until proven guilty. The Patriot Act should have never existed. DUE PROCESS IS A HUMAN RIGHT.

The truth is that this man was deported without due process, the people who deported ADMITTED he was by mistake, and he has never been convicted of any crime. The hill we die on is HUMAN RIGHTS. DUE PROCESS IS A HUMAN RIGHT

Eyo! Looking great!

All Michigan residents, please contact Slotkin’s office and express your disdain for her decision to abstain.
comment in response to post
As a resident of Michigan I will definitely be calling Slotkin’s office to complain about her lack of support for the transgender community and asking why she refused to vote against such a dangerous bill.
comment in response to post
Oh for sure. As I was saying in a different thread, I think mostly we’re calling out her hypocrisy. As a trans woman myself, I didn’t really see any issue in calling her plastic surgery “gender affirming care”.
comment in response to post
Since we were talking about appearance and permanent choices regarding it, it was probably implied that when I most mostly using it as a metaphor, or perhaps more accurately as an analogy to better articulate my point. I whole-heartedly think people should be allowed to change whatever they want.
comment in response to post
You’re still missing relevant context. We’re not slamming anyone for “being ugly”. We’re slamming them for “choosing to be ugly”. It’s not the appearance that’s the problem. It’s the hypocrisy. Nobody would be calling Noem out if she wasn’t such a twat.
comment in response to post
What matters is the hypocrisy. Someone who chooses to be fat, should not be shaming others for doing so. Someone who gets plastic surgery, should not be shaming others for altering their own bodies.
comment in response to post
Your “logic” is skipping a step. It’s the choice that matters. Nobody chooses to be fat, *maybe* they made choices to get them there (overeating, sedentary lifestyle, etc), but that’s often a symptom of some other factor outside their control, (ie mental or physical health problems).
comment in response to post
Going after someone’s appearance is not okay if they had no choice/they were born that way. This woman CHOSE to look that way. We absolutely can criticize her choices, especially when they are as hypocritical as they are.

Yes typo sorry. There are millions more than the 78mil who wish for a better country for ALL Americans. But apathy and disillusionment has caused our worst case scenario, we’re descending into a dark future, and this slope is slippery indeed.

If the election system was broken, we’d be able to fix all the other stuff. Healthcare, gun control, poverty, the insane wealth of the 0.01%, all remain a problem because the populace are in a stranglehold by the very few that benefit from such a status quo.
comment in response to post
78 million isn’t even a quarter of the US population. Our election system is broken and too many people stayed home instead of voting against this. Voter suppression also played a not insignificant part as well.

Don’t forget The Owl House, although that was a few years ago.

A little vulgar, but not entirely untrue. Are you just now learning this?

I have a nostalgic attachment to Earthshaker, so much fun.

Do not meet bad faith with bad faith. Just because they refuse science to push their agenda, does not mean we should to.

AMAB people will typically naturally produce more testosterone than AFAB people, without medical intervention. That is something we cannot ignore, and most trans people will acknowledge. That advantage disappears after a couple years on hormones. Denying this does nothing but discredit our cause.

Well you seem to think that since most of that LAND is red, that must mean “way more than half” of all people voted red. I swear to god if one person in Texas voted red and 1000 in Delaware voted blue you’d think red had more votes.
comment in response to post
Land doesn’t vote, people do.

As reprehensible as most conservative viewpoints are, actual SANE people aren’t happy seeing other people die. Think about why you’d suggest that.
