“Sober but social” -my new tagline It will still be tv, movie and book reviews, mixed with my odd views on other stuff along the way. And of course there will be the odd spelling mistake.

…but manages to fill it with the same emotional heart. Thames is a brilliant, and Parker backs him, with a feisty performance. And I’m glad they didn’t overly mess with look of Toothless and the other dragons. 1/2

Yeah would have made more sense have him turn up as like the stinger in the tail end. But I still did enjoyed it.

I’m not sure, I kinda liked him there but didn’t also feel like I needed him if that makes sense.

She was standard for the series to be fair, very few words said, fairly standard back story. I went for the action and it delivered.

Bryne is a creepy and menacing villain. I did feel Reedus was a little wasted mind. But I loved the village of assassins, that was neat idea. 2/2

Sorry to hear about the break up. But do it you only live once. X

Prophecy Girl S1x12 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gellar is perfect in this episode her reaction to finding out her death will bring about the Masters release is perfect. Jenny joins the gang again nicely, as does Cordelia. Hannigan’s scene is also a highlight. Minor niggle is probably how the Master is defeated.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind S1x11 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another solid idea well executed. It has a couple of flaws but they can be by-passed really. Also love it’s the first step to the Cordelia we come to love in later seasons.

Yeah I believe it’s a trilogy of books

Nightmares S1x10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ While the concept doesn’t quite gel, the nightmare scenarios are all fun. Buffy’s are all relatable, her father rejecting her, being turned into a vamp. Xander’s and Willows are more for fun.

The Puppet Show ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a fun concept, and while Sid isn’t the best dummy in the world you can’t help but like him. Principal Snyders introduction is brill and the dramatic reading in the credits is fun.

I Robot, You Jane S1x8 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ah the dangers of online, decent enough, if a little clunky. Moloch looks decent in both forms.

Angel S1x7 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A brilliant episode which brings showcases Angel, and started dropping hints of whats to come. The only downfall is there was one was dusting Darla so early.

The Pack S1x6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The bully metaphor is more on the nose with the hyena pack, but I’ve always liked this episode. But it shows the show can go quite dark, eating the pig and Principal Flutie, and the fact Xander try’s to force himself on Buffy.

Never Kill A Boy On The First Date S1x5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The juggle of dating is never an easy one for a slayer, and it’s nicely acted by Gellar here. Owen is never going to be more than a one date guy, too tame. The idea of the anointed one is a neat twist, but sadly never really used.

Sure you look hot from the tv’s pov too!

Teacher’s Pet ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The idea of the monster only after virgins is age old. But this one of the shows poorer episodes for me. If it wasn’t for the characters it wouldn’t work.

The Witch S1x3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Again a perfect high school concept wittily brought to life. Xander’s struggle to be inferior to Buffy (a girl) already begins grate a little. But everyone shines.

The Harvest S1x2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Like the first episode the characters are nicely written and we get too see them fall into place. The first Scooby gang meeting in the library is perfect. If it’s let down by anything it’s the vamps feel played down as dumb.

Welcome to the Hellmouth S1x1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This a great first episode which sets up the premise with ease. From’s it clever concept switching opener, the it witty dialogue and characters. I remember first seeing this as a mini movie with The Harvest on BBC2 and thinking yep I’m hooked.
