Got a picture of this? It's being noted on ABC radio canberra right now

It was amazing that this speech didn't have one person giving a standing ovation. Of all the speeches, surely this one should.

My 8 and 11 y.o. kids have out of nowhere both created a school D&D group. Any tips for them on how they can keep it going as the dungeon master seeing kids don't always have the biggest attention span?

They've got mmp or similar there, don't they? Like NZ, they've learned to work with minority governments

Hmmm, yeah right they'll match. They have a tendency to say anything to get in and then not actually deliver on it in office. A vanilla example are the carparks...

Despite denials, AUKUS is all about the path to Australia getting nukes, no doubt in my mind

I think the upshot of all this is that we are able to gain a certain level of moral clarity that could last for decades as it did after the last world war. Hopefully it doesn't take one of those to get the clarity

Probably best not to keep talking about average when the split between the top and bottom keeps getting bigger. Those at the bottom don't care if the average is getting higher, they are struggling. They are getting angrier.

Wouldn't this database include information on parents and children all over the US, not just Dept of Education employees? If so, the breach must be much larger than first thought and impact most people in the US... I wonder if people voted for this?

And Rupert has Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Tony Blair as godparents to some of his kids. Blows my mind

Look at the tech bros at the inauguration too, a few immigrants there too 🙃 The hypocrisy is amazing but not surprising

Imagine any president getting upset about a bishop asking for mercy for a particular group 🙃

What are or will be the unintended consequences of this?

By design, unfortunately. Journalism has collapsed

This is the silliness of this all. Functioning properly, having fewer citizens per pollie is meant to improve your life but instead people just think of monetary cost rather than the societal cost

Unfortunately reminds me of the netflix opening screen...

There's no value in valour in the corporate trenches

Yeah, it makes sense from a consumer perspective since we're meant to have all inclusive pricing with gst etc. Might end up with more cash only retailers. Fingers crossed they can make others follow suit (airlines, airbnb)

Time for Musk to volunteer to be the first person to be sent into space on Starship. What do you think?

But then the system would then need to be paid for by those who don't pay off their monthly credit card balance. Likely not by us but those who can least afford to do it (kind of like the pokie losses paying for 'community sport and services')

Saw someone do the Michael Jackson's Earth Song (aka 'what about us'). Wind, rain, lightening and all

All the best but I do think he'll wilt under the wrath of Sarah's audience. They are still mighty angry.

I have whiplash from their changes in policy. It's all been a pretty cynical exercise overall

But seriously, it feels like it's only worth as much as its real estate. Apparently, the market cap is currently $373m...

How much is it worth now? About as much as a derelict pyrmont terraced house?
comment in response to post
I thought it was a certain number of hours or if you earn over a certain amount 🤷

Yeah I guess we constantly hear about lithium ion batteries as not lasting long rather than saying the cost to get long duration is higher than other methods. Anyway, journos need to do a better job at explaining this.

Maybe he knows he's going to be let go, and he's run his mouth off as a result 🤷🤷 Very odd to do such an opinion piece when you're in such a position

I thought that was the Chancellor of University of Canberra?
comment in response to post
Sure, so the issue isn't the length of time it can feed in. I wish this was explained better and more often.

Does it matter that they only feed back into the grid for four hours if we can have a bunch of them in series?

You going to go for another senate seat this time around?

- Liberal leader says something mostly right = 'argh you liberals are hopeless' - Rep says something wacky with a small hint of reality = 'There's some truth there' 🙃🙃🫠🫠

No worries. Hope you end up getting back into it as I don't think there was that style of radio around much at all. Happy NY too!
