Shockingly a lot less orange than most of the locker room to be honest.

In 2025 what does Bischoff bring to any promotion? Like I get it, back in the '90s, he went head-to-head with WWE for 83 weeks. Okay? What have you done since then? Fuck all. Hulk Hogan's lackey? I mean come on. He's been coasting office success with WCW for decades now. Move on.

To you as well.

My father? Cuz if somebody can get in touch with the man I'd really appreciate it. Or is this like a wrestling thing only? I'm sorry, Sean. I couldn't resist.

Dwayne like "Kayfabe? Never heard of it."

I love how he is so unwilling to go all in on the Rock being his persona, because he really just wants Dwayne Johnson to be taken seriously (which is fine), that he's literally thinking the audience for allowing him to play this character - the Final Boss. Really wants to make clear it's not him.

It does definitely read as a bunch of crazy, written by somebody who has an absolute hate on for aew, particularly the parts going in and on Tony and his relationship with his family. There's absolutely no way it goes to discovery or gets close. Either thrown out, as you said, or settled and NDA.

So why not add an extra level of drama that no one expects? While also adding drama to every match after, as I've stated, as people will be forever wondering "what if?". It's been years since Kota kicked out. It's time for a refresher. No better time than Revolution. I mean just look at the name.

No one would expect it. It would put both of them over huge. Most importantly it would make Takeshita look like an absolute beast. He's already largely a made man but this would push him into the stratosphere. We all know Kenny is going to win. I don't think there's any debating that.
comment in response to post
Not like I said, you still protect the move, you don't have people kicking out every week. I don't think you have anybody kicking out for quite some time after something like this. The OWA is the OWA. But in a big match like this, and fresh off injury as he is, this is the perfect time to do it.
comment in response to post
This would also help protect both wrestlers. Continue Takeshita on his current upwards trajectory and it would also add an element to omega's matches from here forward as people would be wondering if other wrestlers will kick out.

How dare they not have a 20x20 ring who the hell do they think they are?

I'm not telling anybody not to complain, not to voice their displeasure, and not to go out and try to make change. Quite the opposite. I'm just also trying to be very realistic about what's happening here and the reasons why they're doing the things they're doing. Which, as always = $$$
comment in response to post
They've done all of these things, and simply been rewarded, with more money, more viewers, and more eyes than ever. Now with a Netflix deal. Until people give them an actual reason to change their business practices they're not going to. That's just business. The only answer is don't watch.

The sad reality is, Triple H showing up at a government hearing and sitting behind Linda mcmahon, isn't on most wrestling fans radar. The Saudi Arabia shows? People can bitch and complain, and rightly so, but clearly they don't seem to be an issue. If they were they wouldn't be still doing them.

Oh, listen, I'm no fan of wwe. By any means. I think largely as a corporation they're kind of despicable. Their actions speak louder than words. I'm just simply saying, in regards to Sami's comment, but yeah it's not surprising they don't want to offend anybody because that's going to cost them $$
comment in response to post
They're multibillion dollar company. Of course they don't want to offend any kind of demographic. So they're not going to go discussing politics. Just makes sense.

It's such an obvious "this is going to end in a settlement" in some capacity.

Did you miss the part where I said he can have a stand-in? Like his own champion? Because the rock himself doesn't need to be in the match? I'm not saying the storyline shouldn't have a wrestling match, I'm saying the rock, doesn't need to be in the ring doing it.
comment in response to post
Either be the fun loving, corporate shilling, movie star Dwayne Johnson that works for tko. Or be the shit talking, jabroni hating, poontang pie eating, Rock that wrestling fans won. You can't be both. Especially standing in the ring talking to the audience. He wants to be both. It's not sustainable
comment in response to post
The problem last night is evident of this. He kept going back and forth from being the fun-loving movie star dwayne, and the shit talking upset the audience, rock. You can't have it both ways. Pick a line and stick with it.
comment in response to post
Dwayne Johnson is The family man, the movie star, the guy that wants to sell you some tequila and maybe an energy drink or two. The rock is the shit talking, charismatic, fun wrestler. The problem wwe, and The Rock, seem to have currently is the Dwayne can't figure out which character he wants to be
comment in response to post
About to say he hasn't been successful in hollywood. His career speaks for itself. But the perception that he is built up over the last decade in particular is not a good one. Especially when it comes to public perception. Black Adam did him no favors in this regard.
comment in response to post
No I'm not saying I don't think the rock never would have returned to wwe. Obviously he was always going to have some role in the company. I don't think you would have returned in the capacity he has though. This is a pivot because Hollywood hasn't worked out the way he wanted.
comment in response to post
Right! The Rock isn't wrong here. Him and Cody don't need to have the match. The Rock can have a stand in. Also to the people saying, just go watch a soap opera, guys you're watching wwe. It is a soap opera. Do you kid yourself because there's punching and kicking? It's a soap. Sorry.
comment in response to post
The Rock and Cody don't need to have a match. The Rock can have a stand-in for himself. He doesn't need to have this match. He himself knows this. So are you going to tell the rock to go star in a soap opera because this is what he wants to do? Maybe he knows what he's doing.
comment in response to post
I hate to break it to you but if you're watching WWE in 2025 you are watching a soap and a drama. Considering about the first hour of SmackDown had no wrestling at all, what do you think you're watching?
comment in response to post
I mean he's not wrong. I know people probably really want to see it but ultimately I don't think that match would really live up to people's expectations. They don't need to have a match to end the storyline between the two. The Rocks transcended that.

I don't know if he was drunk or not, but you know, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised. Honestly if he was it in a way would make things better. And that's saying something.

You're on fire tonight.
comment in response to post
If you told me he was giving out free shots of tequila backstage before the segment I would 100% believe you and it would explain a lot.
comment in response to post
There's a moment there where it looks like the rock is legitimately going to make out with Cody. This segment is not good.

This made me laugh far more than it should. Sadly the days of fun booking like this seem to be behind us when it comes to WWE.

Oh I'm sure this discourse is going to go lovely.

The thing is if you're going to run out there with a chair you need to act like you're going to use it. You've got to actually be threatening.
comment in response to post
Absolutely fantastic. People just looking for a reason to be upset.

People have things to say, cuz they always do, but that's not bad at all for cable at like 11:30 p.m. when it actually aired. Also, and I know I'm not the first to say this, but the rating simply do not matter. Not a metric any fan should care about.
