I think it’s a very apt description of Canadian attitudes towards violence. Elbows up is not an act of aggression, it’s a call to defend yourself, violently.

Ever since getting their tune up, my bike has been hopping gears on me. I put it in a low gear and, give it time, and it randomly jumps to a higher gear on its own. It’s like I’ve got automatic transmission! 🤦♀️
