Lawyers Bochetto, Lentz, and Heim, who worked on Trump's legal defense team during his second impeachment trial, gave a combined $8,400 to Pat Dugan's campaign for District Attorney in December. Dugan is challenging Larry Krasner in the Democratic primary.

We are in a dangerous time but here are two important facts: 1. Trump's base of support is a minority. 2. That base is going to shrink as his agenda is enacted. The opposition is the majority. No moping allowed. www.hamiltonnolan.com/p/they-are-a...

The Eagles victory brought all of Philadelphia to Broad Street for a day. But arts and culture does that every day. We’ve got just six more days to save the oldest building on Broad for the arts. My column on the future of UArts flagship building: www.inquirer.com/real-estate/...

In the piece below, I talk a lot about mass messaging (posters, stickers, etc.) to keep the focus not just on enmity towards Trump and Musk but the impact of their actions. In case it's helpful, I put together some examples! Not perfect, but they get the job done (feel free to steal/share)

Anti-Palestinian Racism in the Media: Manufacturing Consent for Genocide and Occupation from the good folks at Visualizing Palestine. The pervasive dehumanization of Palestinians in the media must end.

Wonderful piece. I have a section on Radio Ceylon / All India Radio in my report on the AAPI journalism history: drive.google.com/file/d/1UaX5...

Courts *ordered* the Trump admin to stop its spending freeze Yet ProPublica found place after place where $ is still frozen -hot meals for elderly and disabled -groceries for those in need -maternal & child health services -a clinic that serves the poor www.propublica.org/article/trum...

Liverpool losing to Plymouth. You love to see it.

Alright Philly!

"“If you ask people ‘are you interested in your place in the world? Do you want to understand the world?’ Everyone says yes. But if you ask ‘does status quo journalism help you do any of those things?’ They say no."

We are so excited to welcome seven new board members to IPMF this year. Please take a look!

No shade to City Cast at all, but the answer to this question right now is "literally every street corner" 😂

Protests that are useful in this moment involve institutions that have pre-complied because they can be bullied into reversing course. They are good targets of protest.

🚨 THREAD: On Sunday, Israel blew up an entire residential block in the occupied West Bank. Israeli forces carried out a devastating attack on the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, leveling at least 20 buildings in mass explosions.

Tip of the day: did you know that you can archive an archive? If there's something archived on Wayback Machine that you want to create a secondary archive of just in case Wayback Machine goes down, you can just paste the Wayback Machine URL into archive.is to create a secondary copy of the archive.

Some of the best news nonprofits (both local + national) that deserve your support: @bolts.bsky.social, Documented NY for immigration reporting, @theappeal.bsky.social, Outlier Media if you're in Detroit, Press On and Scalawag if you're in the South, MLK50 in Memphis, City Bureau in Chicago

If you care about children, you support their access to life-saving health care; you affirm and celebrate them as their whole selves; you strive to build a society of freedom, autonomy, care, and liberation in which they can live and grow. Protect trans kids, today and every day.

I know that Trans Youth Emergency Project could use donations. Perhaps they even need some volunteers. southernequality.org/tyep/

“To turn off, go to Settings > Apps > Photos on iOS and turn off Enhanced Visual Search. On Mac, open Photos and go to Settings > General to do the same. You must do it on each of your Apple devices.”

"HOLY COW! Brad absolutely annihilated a fellow corgi" is the belly laugh I needed. God bless every one of these dogs.

I see a lot of decent people struggling w/ the volume of aid requests from people in Gaza. I understand. It's impossible to respond to all of them & also to know who to support. If you feel able to, just focusing on one or two people does help. It's not ideal for anyone but it might feel manageable.

It took less than a year for Israel to normalize waging war on hospitals, their staff, and their patients. Our government supplies the weapons, and accuses anyone who dare object of antisemitism. “The occupation army is burning all the operating departments in the hospital while we are still there”
