The freight doesn't have to be unloaded at a passenger station of course. You can do it at the yard where the trains are serviced for the return trip. The freight part can also be shunted away to a different dedicated loading location.

@ns.nl tried this in 2000 with the Overnight Express from Amsterdam to Milan. It lasted 1,5 years before it was cancelled because of a lack of cargo (and operational issues). The main cargo was flowers, first using old German Post cars and later also containers. www.martijnhaman.nl/overnightexp...

Ik weet het van de treinstellen, dat is jammer, maar in de spits is er daardoor geen groei meer mogelijk.
Controles zie ik eigenlijk alleen op het station van Gouda, niet meer op de trein. Het probleem zijn de mensen die 1 halte meerijden, die wachten gewoon een kwartier als ze een contoleteam zien

De uitval van treinen is nu gelukkig een stuk beter. Het blijft wel een probleem dat de treinen in de spitsen toch nog wel te kort zijn. Ook mag er wel vaker tijdens de rit gecontroleerd worden. Zeker tussen de stations in W'veen en Boskoop wordt er stevig zwart gereden.

The SBB has shown interest in adding a London route with an international parter. But the Swiss government has also said that they are not going to subsidize any initiative.
So it's again a matter of who is going to pay for the trains.

SBB has recently said that they have zero intentions to go international on their own. So even if they had the trains they would not compete with SNCF or Eurostar.

The change to the new generation Nightjet for the Amsterdam - Austria trains is not a certainty. The bookings for after April 7 have recently opened, but only with seat/bed options that are only possible in both old and new trains.

De treinen zijn gebouwd door de Franse fabrikant CFD. Die hebben dit ontwerp gebruikt voor verschillende type treinen, inclusief ultrasoontreinen voor verschillenden klanten, inclusief de NS.
