Aus. Vorbei. Zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben werde ich meine Stimme bei einer Bundestagswahl nicht abgeben können. Tausenden Auslandsdeutschen geht es genauso. Warum ich stocksauer bin. 👇👇👇 www.rnd.de/politik/bund...

Germany is voting for a new federal parliament on Sunday - but without me. Due to the short timeframe of this snap election, my ballot didn’t make it to Sweden in time. Disappointed and angry. It’s the first election I’m not voting in since I’ve become eligible.

About to start :)

This account now has more followers than our old account on Twitter. We´re glad to see the academic community thriving on Bluesky! Given that the Twitter account was started in 2009 and this one in 2023, this means a lot. Thank you all for building an online community together! #EnvHist #EnvHum

Very happy to see this #specialissue on #oilhist and #envhist out in the world: stm.cairn.info/journal-of-e.... With great articles by @renaudbecot.bsky.social, Reynaldo de los Reyes Patiño, @mattinbiglari.bsky.social, Randal L. Hall, Jelena Stanković, @michielbron.bsky.social, and Robert Lifset.

It's a sign of the times that, pre-publication, this HE redundancies article started out as a story about UEA with Durham added. Then Kent was added...then Cardiff. A microcosm of UK HE right now, and a typical day in the life at the moment. www.researchprofessionalnews.com/rr-news-uk-u...

One of the first, soft targets of fascist regimes is "degeneracy," including "degenerate art." It's often first in line. And after destroying that's been ushered into acceptability? They just start expanding the definition of degeneracy.

Today:

- CDU will zurück zum Verbrenner & Heizungsgesetz abschaffen. - Klimaleugner Weidel & Musk einig: Hitler war links. What a day 😳

Amid all the bad, here's some good news: the lease sale of the Arctic Refuge, scheduled for tomorrow, received NO NEW BIDS. Here are pregnant female caribou, migrating to the place where they give birth, the same place that drilling proponents want to turn into an oil field. 📷 Subhankar Banerjee

And in case you'd like to speak to the people responsible, who are richer now than pre-2020 because you're poorer, they are here: www.theguardian.com/business/202....

59 years ago this month scientists warned the president about the "vast geophysical experiment" of burning fossil fuels and releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. "The climatic changes that may be produced by the increased CO2 content could be deleterious from the point of view of human beings."

One more week!

The next time someone in my comments tells me that it’s okay to use it for personal shit, I am throwing this article at them like a frisbee.

Two more weeks to apply!!

If you're upset by art not being damaged in protest against climate change, I can only imagine how furious you'll be at the actual damage to art caused by climate change.
