Rg4+!! #chess #chesspunks

There's nothing more amazing than studying 300+ lines in the French Defense and then being out of preparation on move 2. This 800 line course doesn't cover 2. nc3 - yes, 99% of lines will transpose into something I know, but there's not meant to be a nc3 kings indian attack against the French #chess

One thing I’m noticing after Chessable is that I’m like Chat GPT - I don’t recognise when there’s something I don’t know, I just assume I’ve seen it before and over-apply my knowledge. Y’know? If a position comes up that I’ve seen I’ll remember the answer, but if it’s new it can be hard to tell

People need to understand that Fischer random doesn't have less theory, it has 959 times more theory #chess

f4!? exf4, Bxc6!! bxc6, 0-0!! is so crazy with white winning down 2 pieces and 650 pawns. Taking with the queen is also bad due to Rf1 Qg5 Rd2!! apparently. - Marshall gambit of the Triangle Slav

I cant get over how Chessable switches the order and colours of the buttons sometimes - next variation on the right in blue if you're reviewing a line, or in white on the left if you're learning a line for the first time. Messes me up so much #chess #chesspunks

I finally understand the openings I like! It’s not about positional or tactical. It’s about being forcing - limiting the setups the opponent has and ensuring that I’m comfortable in my position no matter what. It pairs well with my over-focus on openings, too. #chess #chesspunks What about you?

Quickstarter. QUICKSTARTER. #chess #chesspunks 6. Be2 e5 7. 0-0 Na6 81 VARIATION QUICKSTARTER?!

Oh wow. "Dethrone the KID part 1" on Chessable has an average depth of 24.7. That's insane. One chapter averages 30 depth. #chess #chesspunks

Chessable's "Dethrone the King's Indian Defense Part 2: Sidelines for white", which claims to offer the most complete refutation against the KID, has 2300 variations (in just part 2). Wtf? Who has time for that against just the KID? #chess #chesspunks

Me studying chessable "Wait this line is difficult... uhhhhh if I get this position I'm going to lose. ut all of the other variations are so nice!" *checks database, 0 games Okay... we'll just hope I'm not the first to get it #chess #chesspunks

I uh, I bought my fourth or fifth Kings Indian course. To be fair, one was a 100 repertoires (100 lines) and I really didn't enjoy it, and the other was cool but far too complicated and difficult (The most extensive KID course ever, I imagine) #chesspunks

"Yeah I prefer plan-based openings" #chess #chesspunks

#chess I absolutely love to see Arjun going crazy with a blumenfeld gambit in classical. But how is he seemingly out of theory in the absolute mainline after only a few moves? It has to be tilt, forgetting his prep (super early) or he's pretending. I really don't understand.

I think tonight I’ll watch Tata steel without the eval bar & engine #chess #chesspunks - which do you prefer?

Does he have something he needs to tell us?~ #chess #chesspunks

A classic from Alex Banzea's Caro Kann course. #chess #chesspunks

(is this guy okay?) hehe #chess #chesspunks

I always laugh at how many Chessable authors type formally and professionally but can't hide their sheer disgust at subpar moves, or sometimes throw shade at other author's chosen lines.

"You shouldn't be studying openings so much, it isn't needed" Okay but I'm addicted. I can't stop. #chess #chesspunks

#chess #chesspunks Unfortunate that Arjun lost round 1 of Tata Steel, but happens sometimes when you're that ambitious and avoid trades! The best part about Arjun is that he never collapses after a loss; but he comes back stronger.

Hahah #chess #chesspunks

Chessable 2024! The number of courses is crazy... #chess #chesspunks (Honestly I didn't expect any of it to be that high, I've been slacking)

#chess #chesspunks One of the weirdest looking endgames I’ve played/seen, with white’s king placement! It’s white’s turn, just played it (unfortunately as black)

130 variations down! Yes, there's a lot to go, but I've got these down really really well and slowly add to it. I'm also starting just with priority lines. What size opening do you like #chess #chesspunks ? (Gawain Jones is fantastic but his 3000 variation KID course is far too extreme for me haha)
