I like how we are selling courses on how to form a revolution. It would be hysterical if it wasn't so depressing.

I have read that article and dozens more about what military equipment gets sent where and who's virtue signaling today about it. If you want to police this, extend it out to every bit of trade to every country and every industry. You'll likely something to complain about with every trading partner.

Probably for the best if you're telling me to read Pappé to get "enlightenment" on the I/P history and conflict. I would suggest you actually come at this with an open mind to hear the actual history, but you are far too dug in to see anything but Israel bad.

Really? This is what we are going with today? So he's funding the people he is genociding? He gave them billions to just kill them all later on?

I see what's happening to Hamas who rules the country same as what happened to all of the other jihadist governments that came before them. When the Palestinians willingly put these people into power over and over and over again, this conflict will continue just as it's been for the past 80 years.

Just to Israel or to all countries? Cause they're are some others that should probably be in the list. Why is this suddenly a problem when Australia has been selling military equipment for decades?
comment in response to

Israel has offered a 2 state to be rejected repeatedly. Expelling the ambassador is a dog and pony show. They don't send weapons, they sell parts to other countries and some get sold to Israel. If you think this is genocide, we can't discuss because we are fundamentally so far apart it's useless.

Yes the entire world can be concerned, but what actions specifically should Australia be doing that they aren't doing at the moment? You can advocate online till the cows come home, but that is screaming into the void and doesn't accomplish much of anything.

Sure thing buddy. I didn't realize asking questions to support your arguments was an issue. Silly me. Maybe next time you talk with someone you can just say things and believe they're true without any supporting evidence. Enjoy your reports!

What does that even mean?

Okay so no new gas projects and no new coal mines. Where are you getting the money to fund your investment into renewable energy and the expansion of services needed to help deal with all of the new housing needing to be built and other infrastructure projects needing to be completed?

Nope just someone who knows the world doesn't work like a prime time sitcom that gets wrapped up in 30 minutes.

There's right and left, center is a myth. Want more parties? Get better ideas.
Australia has nothing to do with Gaza and zero to offer to solve that problem.
There's so many resources to help people in this country, you have to really try to be poor.
Energy infrastructure takes decades to change.

Why don't we reach into the giant money tree and end world hunger and have peace on earth!
Do you have any realistic idea how long it would take to put in the infrastructure to reduce the reliance on coal and gas by even 10%? It's massive and not something that is done in 10 years let alone 3.

I agree it's not management, but it's also not sprint to some imaginary finish line now that you have some power. Coming out of a delayed covid finish it was smart to take time. I'm all for progress, but some things can't be fixed in a year and take decades of small tweaks and adjustments to solve.

You do realize government should never be in the business of going for broke in one direction. You have an entire country to manage, it should be done slowly and methodically otherwise you risk making irreparable mistakes in your blind rush for progess.

I will say, borrowing against my 401k, which is similar to your super, was a great way to invest that money when I needed it when I was younger. It was paid back through deductions from my weekly check and was extremely helpful. There were limits on the repayment terms. It's not a horrible idea.

I see from your later responses of what camera you are getting, but if you want some advice from a former birder, a Nikon D4s and either a Nikon 200-400 or a Sigma 150-600 gets you ALOT of camera for pretty cheap. It's a pro camera primarily used for sports shooting, but it's great for birds.

The US is wildly different on racial issues. That'll be 20 years of difference the next presidential election.
Also, she is a house member from a +20 district. She talks and excites you about the future, but she'd be better as steward of the Democrat party. She'd get destroyed in a pres election.

It's not a hang up, it's just reality in this country at this time. Whether you want to believe it or not, a woman is not getting elected in any election in the near future. Sorry, but it's the reality of where we are right now. It's not good in the slightest, but it's just the truth.
comment in response to

Yep...Let's learn nothing about the past 2 elections we decided to run a woman for a candidate and let's go again. Hugely disliked by the right Latino progressive female Democrat. I'm sure third times the charm.

Yes, actually. How many rallies did Kamala have where we heard the same thing, "OMG. So much joy! Hope. New America. We're going to win!"? How'd that turn out for us?
If he thinks getting as many eyes on him as possible outside of California democrats is the way to go, let him.

They are both federal employees, Newsom is not. On top of that he is the governor of one of the largest economies in the world, not just the US. I'd be appalled if I was in his state and he was out doing rallies around the country instead doing his job of governing his state. But yeah, OUTRAGE!

Do you have an external hard drive attached? I had something similar happen with a HD that was going bad. It would work most of the time, but occasionally it would just freak out, cause everything to stutter and then would sometimes full on crash.

If you live in the US there's a web site called booksalefinder. They have a list, if every library book sale in every state.
Alternatively, you can always coordinate with your local library to run a book sale for either kids or adults. They usually are happy to help.

First thing you're missing in this timeline is SCOTUS granting trump full immunity during presidential actions so he can defy court orders as he sees fit and will face zero consequences.

The fact I even have to look for the list tells me the impact it has had is barely felt in any broad capacity. 17 billion dollars should be enough to transform something into a recognized world changing event. The fact that it isn't is actually kind of shocking.
comment in response to

You know what the sad thing about that statistic is, for all the money she's given, can you point to one thing she's donated to that's made a marked improvement on the world as a whole? I'm all for donating, but I've seen nothing spectacular accomplished with 17 billion dollars.

By installing a smart meter, you run the risk of the same problems by installing one of those car insurance driving monitors. In the grand scheme, it may be helpful, but unless they're is near complete adoption, you're just screwing yourself.

Really...struggling to stay on the planet? Newsom saying trans kids probably shouldn't play on certain sports teams is the lifeline keeping your kid alive?
Anything but absolute catered access to everything in life otherwise it's full rejection is the pathway you are going down?

You're probably thinking of Jungle Hunt. Similar to Pitfall, but had diving and rock jumping.
comment in response to

Saying, "you can't play a sport on this team" isn't a valid threat to trans lives, which is what Newsom responded to today. Sorry, but if you disagree with that, you and I aren't living in the same reality and can't have a productive conversation about this.

I completely disagree with your position and think your reasoning is beyond weak, but that's ok if you are passionate about an issue you care about.
However, this should not be even a passing consideration for a federally elected official, let alone a presidential candidate.

Even better, how about we all drop the mass psychosis by acknowledging, DOGE isn't real. It's just Elon, a non elected, non appointed person taking completely illegal actions inside our government. Please stop legtimizing DOGE as if it's an actual thing. It's not.
comment in response to

It's not something a potential presidential candidate should even be looking at, let alone having to make mention of. You can soapbox all you want, but if this is an "issue" for you, you've completely lost the plot.

You can hardwire the router to the satellite, which if you have a basement, you can run a wire down through the floor and up the other side. Wired connection will give you the same signal strength as if it was coming from the router itself.
