Hey, she's put up with you this long. Some of it must have rubbed off. 😁

Yes, there are. Some of them are awfully good too.

Oh, cool. I'm seeing it tomorrow in Cinemark XD. Been looking forward to that one and it's getting some great buzz (unlike the new Jurassic Park movie, which isn't). Glad you enjoyed it!

Yep. Loved that scene. He was also one of Randolph Scott's seven men in Seven Men from Now. I think he actually become a very long-running soap opera star on one of those things.

😂 Yeah, but he turned out great. In fact, I'm hoping James Gunn takes Batman back in that direction. When the first Keaton film came out a lot of people (myself included) who were used to the Batman of the 60's & 70s comics and the TV series thought it was a bit too dark. But compared to now... 😲

Zod and his associates were great villains. I do like II just a bit better than the first one, which was largely the origin story. But they were both great.

Always loved that one. The uncredited role of the state trooper was played by Johnny Berardino, a former slick-fielding former big league infielder.

Cool. Should be a whole different thing, I guess.

I definitely prefer Superman II to the first one (although I love it as well). I haven't seen the Donner Cut of Superman II, but it would be interesting. Doesn't seem to be streaming anywhere at the moment (except PPV).

I think I like Superman II a little bit better as well. The first one spends so much time on the origin story (maybe it's just because I know it so well).
Batman returns is the one with Danny DeVito as The Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.

Yeah, Warner Brothers owns DC now, so all that stuff is on there.
Compared to the Dark Knight Trilogy and especially to The Batman, the Keaton Batman films are practically jolly. 😂

Dang. I thought it would be Bang the Drum Slowly.

Normally I lean toward the good news, but I'm thinking the bad news kind of overshadows it here. Take are of yourselves! Hopefully it will be relatively mild.

Pearl Buck grew up in China, but she was born very near where I grew up. Her birthplace is now a museum located along U.S. 219 in Pocahontas County, West Virginia.

Love Keaton. I'm hoping James Gunn takes Batman back a bit closer to that first Keaton film. A lot of people (myself included) thought it was a bit dark when it came out because most of us had grown up with the TV series and the 60s/70s comics. Now look what we have!
They're all on HBO Max.

The video has some photos of what Freddie looked like in college too. And they interview his brother.

In that first part you can even see what Freddie looked like at the time in the old newspaper photo. This second part details the escape itself. And below I'll link a YouTube video of Jerry Springer reporting on it on Cincinnati TV! ⬇️

I remember this girl I used to hang out with sometimes in those days telling me after he was nabbed for the robberies that he had asked her out. She was relieved that she hadn't said yes. 😂
I found some more stuff about Freddie and the escape (in two parts). ⬇️

Last time I saw a photo of Freddie was a few years ago when he and 2 other inmates were in court in Clarksburg charged with murdering a fellow inmate back in 1989. He had definitely cultivated a bit of a Charles Manson look (just needed a swastika on his forehead). 😂

Freddie got life in prison at the state penitentiary, but back in 1992 he and 2 other inmates broke out after building an elaborate lighted tunnel from the prison greenhouse where they worked to outside. Here's what happened after Freddie's escape. ⬇️

Crazy stuff. I was in college with a guy named Freddie Hamilton. He committed a string of robberies along with a guy from my neighborhood who I'd known since grade school. Freddie was a charmer (he wowed the girls), but there was always something a bit creepy about him. They were arrested...⬇️

...early the next morning. But there's a lot more than that to the story. If you want to know, do a search for Jeffrey Manchester.
Could be fascinating, although I have an even better real-life story of robbery, murder and near Manson-like powers of persuasion committed by a guy I knew. 😲

I saw a trailer for that before some movie a while back, but didn't know much about it. Apparently it's about a guy who was labeled the "Rooftop Robber" who would break into McDonald's locations across the country during the night, hide in the bathroom and then rob the staff when they came in...⬇️

Racing movies are often great for the big screen. The one that comes to mind for me was Opie's movie Rush about the 1976 F1 championship battle between James Hunt and Nikki Lauda.
I'll probably end up going to see the Jurassic Park movie. I liked the ones that got trashed, although I haven't...⬇️

...Bong Joon-Ho. Kind of a bleak futuristic thing with steampunk elements where what's left of humanity is aboard a high-tech train that circles the Earth to keep what's left of humanity alive. Tensions rise from class struggles. Chris Evans is the main star.

...back then. Voight and Roberts are so good in it and the derring do train action is great.
Bullet Train is weird, stylish and kind of fun, but not for everyone. Lots of really offbeat characters (most of them assassins going after each other like spy vs. spy).

You do get attached to some of the characters in Train to Busan for sure (and then there's the one character you can't wait to see the zombies get 😂).

I'm planning to see F1 on Friday. I was looking forward to the new Jurassic Park movie, but man, the early reactions are terrible. Campea and Rob Meyer Burnett saw it and they're calling it Jurassic Park: Refund...⬇️

I'm 67 and thrilled. It's about time Democrats started embracing younger candidates with fresher ideas.
And Millennials are hardly "elderly."
But why go all generational divide on us? Back in the 60s we said "don't trust anybody over 30." But then we turned 30. With any luck, you will too.

Thanks for that. This has been my problem with the Democratic Party for a long time. It's such an "old boys (and girls) club" that protects the status quo rather than embracing younger leadership and fresh ideas. And they continue to twiddle their thumbs as fascism takes hold.
