I get what you're saying, but I actually kind of agree with Jeffries's approach, although it should be more organized than he implies. I would want a small number of Ds present, including leadership, as representative witnesses to the malice and degradation, and the rest absent in protest.

Some Ds should go as conspicuous witnesses, to represent the rest of us watching the vileness and degeneracy, and observe without reacting. Most should stay away in protest.

These are not my ideas; they're out there already, and people who know more than I do are talking about them. I would love to see something like this.

The podcast would summarize the bad trumpy stuff du jour and explain how it's bad and how things should work. It could feature the shadow cabinet member most concerned explaining what Ds would do instead. Make it entertaining, outraged and outrageous, TV-ready--Buttigieg or AOC maybe.

You told NPR that the job is to "develop a credible narrative" of Dem alternatives and to "pound [Trump] for the terrible stuff". So what are you going to actually do? I've seen 2 suggestions: shadow cabinet of elected officials and daily podcast. Both could deliver those messages.

Thank you for this. Stand firm. I am one of your constituents, and I appreciate your refusal to help the Republicans do crazy and damaging things.

Boomer woman here. Ditto no issues ever. Men who want to invade women's restrooms just sneak in and hide in a stall.
