Yeah it depends, I assume the guy's non profit doesn't do actual rehabilitation and is a fleece. But good people will slip through into some positions, and maybe this guy is one. Thankfully details I found about him didn't give any red flags.

While everything he does makes me feel crappy, this one seems like not a terrible case at face value. Former inmate, running rehabilitation non profit, is a good choice for a key BoP appointment.

I remember my time in CTS dojo fondly.

A clarification, homicide is not a leading cause of death of women. It IS the leading cause of death of PREGNANT women, which is in itself the significant statistic.

I mean, that's what an ob-gyn does.

He's literally making it clear that he will pay you to commit treason in his name. How long until multiple pardoned Jan 6ers file suits because they know the DOJ will just settle. Feel like this is just the beginning of numerous right wing fraudsters/criminals filing suit now.

There are numerous videos, from multiple angles showing her breaking a window and trying to climb through, as police pointed guns at the window making it clear that if they tried to break through they would be shot. What more information is required?

Maybe we will all look back and say "Daredevil: Born Again was the beginning of the turnaround"

It felt like the first marvel movie in a long while that wasn't a question of "did the couple really cool scenes carry the rest of the film" One thing I thought that did it very well is that it seemed to be the first one to finally push back against the constant "hey let's make everything a joke"

I mean, maybe Trump has a point when he said "they aren't sending their best"

Reminds me that I have to turn my basement one back on. Now if I can just convince the wife that using a humidifier in the kids room and a dehumidifier in the basement is not a smart thing...

Yet his delivered vehicles went down like 50k from 380k to 330k in your q1. I don't understand how all of his behavior and he only <20% in sales

I'd argue it'd make him more relatable to his base

Nah it's always number 7 or 4. If it was the last one, you'd just jump to the end and see it was click ait. Do one in the middle and people have to take time finding it that counts as "engagement"

I keep wondering if I'm being overly dramatic, or if I should be considering moving my family from a neighborhood we love to somewhere that'll weather this behavior better. How best to hedge against future pain, if we stay and things go south.

Is "denaturalize" the new "go back to Africa" for them?

At least you're not from the state trying to annex the regressive parts of your state. While having a spineless dem senator sucks. Having every state level position being red sucks SO much more. This is what my own town got to enjoy from our AG last week

This app and Reddit have helped me reduce my inane joke habit. Saw a YouTube short about welding, and I know nothing about it but the comments were so flooded with the same joke that I had no idea if it was good work or a parody.

Except they do take a cut, tesla buys a building but gets to deduct the cost of that as an expense, while I buy a house yet still pay taxes on the money I earned to buy it. Tesla buys consumables and it's a cost of business, while I buy food and that money was taxed.

One last clarification: also want to say I can also recognize that my argument falls apart when you have places like Uvalde that make no change to their voting behavior yet should be more angry than anyone can be at the status quo.

extremely conservative backgrounds. The best chance (IMO) for things to get better is if things get bad fast for a lot of people due to republicans "getting what they voted for". I don't want individuals to suffer, but in this disinformation era, i'm not sure what will wake people up.
comment in response to post
"as white people lose vote share, republicans will have no chance" with the belief that minority groups will default to Dem's due to Rep's clear racism. But that is a failing argument because people assume "well they don't mean ME", while a large portion of newly emigrated minorities come from

And i'm not trying to give a "this is the solution, do this game plan" style response. But "hey women, they are going to make you die" was really the only messaging that seemed to work. I feel like the next big blindside democrats are going to get hit by is the belief that...

To get turnout, you need a way to make 20 year olds, and 30 year olds angry at republicans for the legitimate reasons they should be mad. You need to give people who don't feel they have time to vote, a personal emotional reason to vote or they aren't going to.

But the "campaigning with liz cheney" argument i don't agree with. No one said "i was gonna vote for harris, but not now that liz cheney showed up at a couple events". It was a waste of time trying to use her to pull votes from the right, but there wasn't a different tactic that'd produce results.
comment in response to post
Those social constructs lead to peer pressure to vote by their members. Things like unions and community organizations targeting sub-40 year olds have mostly gone away.
comment in response to post
The only things I've heard that I personally believe could have positively affected the turnout for democrats is something that isn't a campaign issue, but that democrats as a whole no longer have "social memberships" to the same degree that republicans have church, gun clubs, etc etc. \
comment in response to post
Specifically I am saying "mistake free" because they didn't fall into the normal traps of gun control, immigration, and the other normal bait that republicans use. They kept their messaging relatively on point and didn't get set up to be slapped down with clickbait headlines.

And until things get bad enough for people to be discomforted enough to get angry at what is happening, we're not going to see progress made at the polls because the manufactured anger wins. Looking back at every election in my life seems to follow this pattern.
comment in response to post
They have been able to manufacture anger in people that really have no reason to be angry. But the large portion of people who didn't turn out this last election vs 2020, had nothing to be angry about so they didn't turn out. It feels like we're in a situation where the US is a drug addict...

Other than Biden trying to get re-elected, what other colossal mistakes were there from the democrats? Post Biden they ran a relatively mistake free campaign. I feel like, the simple fact is, the vast majority of people won't vote unless their angry. That is the thing republicans have done well.
