Also, from your profile, I can see we are on the same team here so letā€™s not explain economics at each other. I see you and I understand wanting to take this seriously and why it might be frustrating to see jokes about this shit rn.

Sir, it is a joke, yes. No one said money or stocks arenā€™t real. I am very aware that my retirement savings have very much *actually* gone down in the last few days.

And itā€™s actually just an ORTBO in Severance.

Dave Matthews as himself. Also SA-born. Heā€™s not there on vacation but shows up for some reason tbd.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw (SA-born) is the hotel manager. She hates Judy Greerā€™s character.

Judy Greer is the events and activities manager for the hotel.

I think something like South Africa is a good place for the next one. No extradition to Italy so Gregā€™s safe to show up. Plenty of rich-white-people dynamics to play with. Someone might get killed on Safari. Could be fun!

William Jackson Harper. Heā€™s an engineer who hit it big and cashed out when he sold his startup but has a lot of guilt about it.

Melanie Lynskey. Sheā€™s an anxious, nerdy novelist and is on a ā€œresearch tripā€, not a vacation.

Actually, thatā€™s an insult to astrology, which is rooted in more actual physical reality and ancestral knowledge than the stock market.

All vibes. Itā€™s astrology for billionaires.

Correction that they donā€™t get traditional PTO, but theyā€™re still getting paid if they donā€™t show up. And they essentially canā€™t get ā€œfiredā€ until we vote them out. Cushiest job in the land.

This is like what is meant when they say not having an ā€œopinionā€ only benefits the oppressor. Iā€™m so sorry, Ukraine.
comment in response to post
My point just being that itā€™s one more prong on this thing, and Iā€™m all for whatever it is that motivates people to show up

I hear you. I do think I saw plenty of what youā€™re suggesting. Yes, the critique of Trumpā€™s looks or character may not be ā€œeffectiveā€ protest, but those are the ones that get under Trumpā€™s skin. TBD how good or bad that ultimately is lol but he def doesnā€™t give a fuck if we yell about due process

Iā€™m with you on this but curious what an effective unified message would have been in this case

Very much looking forward to reading this. Nothing gets me to buy a book faster than someone with a lot of money suggesting I shouldnā€™t be reading it.

I just went thru the whole list and added whatever I havenā€™t read or bought to my TBR list

I was in nyc a little over a week ago and it felt so eerie and wrong to me that I didnā€™t run into anyone ā€¦ resisting? And people were talking about plans for the summer etc. I canā€™t even think past the week in front of me. As a former New Yorker this felt crazy-making to me. Glad Iā€™m not alone.

As a PM, I concur. Itā€™s why I am so exhausted by this field and intend to leave it. Also, for example, my last CEO told me and two others that the designs we had were ā€œgrossā€ and that he just wanted us to ā€œbuild a report!!!ā€ And then said he would do it himself. Guess how well that went.
