Thanks for another great interview.

When NAFTA was crafted in 86 there was a lot of opposition in Canada. Concerns around sovereignty. It took 40 years but those fears have fully materialized. Canadians will retrench and diversify trade. It will be painful, and there will be no support for another NAFTA for generations.

This is brilliant, thank you. Can you telll us more about artificial general intelligence and how (or if) that differs from LLMs?

Unbelievable to me that Democracy in America has survived so long without real restriction on campaign financing. I’m in Canada and we have much more stringent rules.

Also one more comment as a Canadian peaking over the fence. There has never been a better time for a centrist party to come up the middle in America. Is there any movement in that direction? It think three parties helps to keep a lid on rabid polarization here.

Thank you for this great interview. It ranks right up there with your interview with Sam Altman as the most disturbing. There is something very wrong when the “most progressive” generation turns out to be all in for the most regressive regime.

The internet is driving us apart, destroying shared truth, rational thought and civil discourse. Ezra, I think you are brilliant, but I worry that your kryptonite is not thinking critically enough about the consequences of tech. thebullshitmachines.com

Team Poilievre has recognized (too late) that he hitched his wagon to kryptonite and made some calls 😂

Dump Trump from the G7. If he shows up in Kananaskis in June we should show him all the hospitality of a gaggle of nesting Canada geese.

Without a fulsome understanding of the thing you are studying and the data set how can you a) understand the hypothesis b) have an understanding of the limitations of the data. Without those two things I think you are left only to ‘search for patterns in data.’ And if you search you will find.

You would like us to ask Trump to extradite him? Why should someone who commits high treason keep citizenship of Canada when they have two other passports?

It is when you are a high ranking member of a state threatening an invasion. He’s a traitor. Similar to Quizling. He plainly has decision making status at the highest levels of the US government. Whether that’s legitimate or not is totally irrelevant.

Did you miss the part where he is part of a foreign government threatening to invade Canada? Treason.

Trump wants keystone xl built. Over my dead body will we become any more entangled. Concerns about sovereignty when NAFTA was signed 35 years ago have been proven entirely prescient. America you’ve shown us who you are; entirely untrustworthy; and we won’t forget that lesson for generations.

Bill C-24 introduced provisions that, in certain cases of conviction for serious offences such as treason or terrorism, provided for the revocation of citizenship of citizens who had dual or multiple citizenships. However, these provisions were repealed in 2017 by Bill C-6.72
