Yeah, looks like it. Luton Town, Leicester and the like showing that a measured approach towards transfers after promotion is not a winning strategy. Nottingham Forest's approach of signing 60 players and taking the points deduction in stride is the right approach ? Disgusting.

Can you make this same graph but sorted by the inner percentage please ? It's an amazing idea but it's a little bit hard to interpret as is imo.

Absolutely horrible setup from United. Amorim surely must take some of the blame today.

What would you have called it with the benefit of hindsight ? I think the name is actually spot on.

I wonder what he actually said verbatim lol

Ok, I guess I was a bit confused by the wording of the article's title then.

Oh sorry, I assumed goals were non-penalty there. Yes, to be at the top of lists like these you will most likely have over performed what the average footballer would have done with those opportunities, or you need to get LOTS of opportunities. Definitely shows a lot of promise though.

That's an unbelievable xG over-performance. I would say you have to give more time to have sufficient proof that he can maintain that level. Nobody maintains that level over longer periods. But yes, he has been IMMENSE.

"Take a look at the best performing players, none of them are newcomers". Isn't this entirely flawed logic ? Unless promoted from youth, they were signed at one point or another. It's not that they make no difference, but that they take time to make an impact. That's what the conclusion should be.

There's always the risk that he isn't ready and it hampers his morale.

Not sure to be honest. Do you happen to have the answer, though ?

Can we not start promoting gambling sites on BlueSky too?

How do you stop billionaires though. Try to stop it and they will just change residency to the next country that welcomes them with open arms.

Do you think Onana should have claimed this cross ?

Video killed the radio star... or text star.. I should say.

Do you think the criticism about the style of play is valid though ?

Pretty disingenuous to come out of that game singing his praises because he clearly dived and wasn't caught because of a lack of VAR.

Describing the ref's officiating ?

Probably referring to Hojlund's shot. It's one of those that seems like it was a big chance but in reality has an xG of roughly 10% and people really have trouble with evaluating those types of chances.

Yeah and it's so opposed to everything else. We're improving markedly in all areas I think, but we just flat out ignore set pieces as if they will just resolve themselves. So bizarre.

This is just a televised 5-a-side between friends. But with 22 pro players.

Google trends data for Germany, last 12 months. This is very non-scientific because championship can refer to many things, and so can premier league. But basically nobody in Germany is looking up the term championship, which might indicate at the lack of interest.

Just looks like a forward shoehorned into midfield to me.

Jhon Duran 🤝 Me when it comes to having your birthday on December 13th. Also he has some of the cleanest and most powerful ball-striking I've ever seen. Borderline unbelievable that he has been doing it with so much consistency over the past year-or-so.

This will certainly be one of the biggest challenges of his career. Everyone is underperforming and demoralised. I still think he will turn it around though. But he will need to make some tough and risky decisions.

I just use a service that is constantly tracking every song that I listen to, so I can then query it with any level of granularity about my listening habits. I just got too impatient waiting for Spotify's annual report...

An absolute tragedy that Maguire isn't at the top of this. Gets to absolutely every set piece with his head but just can't score them for one reason or another!

How many times has that happened since records began ?

All major US sports are leaps and bounds ahead of European Football in terms of analytics, sport science and monetisation of the sport too. I remember reading that new American owners of clubs were confused how few specialised coaches (set piece for ex.) there were, and at the level of analytics.

This is definitely not true! There are still millions and millions of CR7 fans, and they are still as motivated as ever. I run a football game site about the top 5 leagues and I still receive emails weekly from kids asking me to add Ronaldo. Something about his persona has people hooked.

This is genuinely unbelievable.
