With Emily Murphy's statue being stolen from an Edmonton park, it seems as good of a time as ever to explore commemoration controversies with my Social Justice 12 class. #bced

I've created an AI Chatbot for my Philosophy 12 class on @schoolai.com that pretends to be the Ghost of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I look forward to seeing how my students engage with it!

Do any of you BlueSky educators use SchoolAI in your classroom? If so, would you recommend it? I've been looking at the customizable Chatbots. They seem promising.

@chriswarcraft.bsky.social I'm teaching a unit on Civil Disobedience to my Social Justice 12 class. I showed them the video of your actions. Thanks for fighting the good fight!

I believe integrating AI meaningfully into my classroom is essential for narrowing the digital divide. I grew up without both a computer and the internet. I'm thankful that school allowed me opportunities to develop the skills I wasn't able to at home.

@mmeanderson.bsky.social and myself created a document to help teachers understand how they and their students can use AI in the classroom, as Idea Starters, Feedback Helpers, & Work Partners. We are committed to teaching our students how to leverage AI responsibly and effectively. #bced

In my Philosophy 12 class, we will be exploring political philosophy through the lens of Locke, Hobbes, and Rousseau. This is one of my favorite projects!!

How do we teach our students about responsible AI use? I've implemented this framework into my own classes, and I'm feeling optimistic about the results thus far. mrblairsclass.blogspot.com/2025/02/how-...

In my Social Justice 12 class, we learn about the Stonewall Uprising's significance. We also learn about trans icons Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. That won't change.

Informal poll: How many of your high schools have an academic awards ceremony?

Hello all, I thought I'd share our #bced starter pack one more time. It's full at 150 members now. Give all these inspiring educators a follow!! go.bsky.app/QkdaZxi

My book club book with @mrblairteaches.bsky.social and @mmevanos.bsky.social Quote that sticks. "We can't look at the world through 'today glasses.' We must use our 'tomorrow glasses'".(8 Miller). #aiforeducators

Here's the final post in my series on AI in education. This one explains the rationale behind my AI strategy. It's not perfect, but it's a start. #bced mrblairsclass.blogspot.com/2025/02/how-...

This past week, my social justice class has been discussing the power of music to affect change. Kendrick Lamar's halftime show may just become case study A.

The books are in! Our staff will be exploring AI's role in education via @ditchthattextbook.com's AI for Educators. Staff book clubs can be such a transformative experience.

This blog post explains how I navigate AI in my own classroom. More specifically, it explains the "why" and "how" behind my AI Integration Framework. mrblairsclass.blogspot.com/2025/02/how-...

Our next project in my Social Justice 12 class focuses on the power of civil disobedience to affect change. With all that's transpiring in the world, students may see civil disobedience becoming even more of a news item in the months to come. I feel for all of my educator colleagues down south.

Honoured to make this list again! Thanks to family, colleagues, and friends who make it possible for me to do the work I love! globalgurus.org/education-gu... @mrblairteaches.bsky.social @dleeming2.bsky.social @tomschimmer.bsky.social @jonathanferris.bsky.social @gregjwolcott.bsky.social

My level of procrastination is proportional to the time I spend choosing fonts for my handouts.

We will be learning about civil disobedience next week in Social Justice. The timing couldn't be better.

In Social Justice 12, my students are exploring the movements that inspired songs to be written and the social impact that followed their release. What protest songs will be written in these difficult times? What change might they bring?

Finally, I got around to deleting my X account. I had to boot up my old laptop to do so. It feels good to be rid of that place.

All those Canadian Identity projects and conversations will matter more than ever.

Fellow Canadian teachers: Do you plan on talking about this trade war with your students? If so, how might you go about it?

Who else is excited for Manie Musicale 2025? If you're a French teacher and you don't know what this is, check it out! Game changer. I actually had a graduated student contact me to ask if the 2025 playlist dropped yet!

My latest thoughts on the importance of inviting diverse perspectives into conversations on Ai in education. How are your school's navigating Ai? Are they creating ethical frameworks? Are they actively addressing it? mrblairsclass.blogspot.com/2025/01/part...

Another amazing session with @katiewhite426.bsky.social yesterday! Always appreciative of opportunities the district provides on assessment and learning to be more intentional with my choices - the small shift to strength based feedback first had already had positive results

Math Teachers: In grades 8 to 12, what are your policies regarding calculator usage?

My English 10 students' next project: It's an exploration of writing voice and the "Humans of New York" format. Note the "No Ai Permitted" stamp in the bottom right corner.
