prisoners taking care of each other to be sure that they present well as a message to law enforcement is a very real thing. he’s being cared for inside. i used to do prisoners’ rights law, and seems like signals he is being very well cared for as a message to cops: he is protected inside.

A stock market crash that forced administrative prudence would be the most gentle landing possible for this mess. There'd be a lot of pain, but nothing compared to how unhinged it get if all the agriculture subsidies disappear & t-bills stop being consistently honored such that USD hyper-inflates.

Forcing trans people to have the wrong gender marker listed on their passports is a requirement to identify themselves as trans in ways that would permanently separate them from the rest of the population.

i feel the same way about my kids and their last names. ❤️ i’m now divorced (which was made easier for me personally by less name changing paperwork), but we had thought about changing all of our names to a cute hybrid last name, and hooooo boy am i glad we did not do that now.

thank you for this, david. we have a lot in common, and i so deeply appreciate you putting words together so well that reflect so much of what is so important about these issues. it’s sometimes hard for me to articulate to those who don’t experience it, but i think this does wonderfully. thank you.
