I teach 7th and 8th grade math. This year it is all 8th grade Algebra 1. My favorite thing is when we start a new unit or lesson and they start off saying "oh this is going to be SO hard" then afterwards hearing "Boy this was so EASY!"

I am so happy you posted this! I feel like blogging fell out of style due to TikTok and Instagram. I guess I'm old, I miss the math blogs!!

I did check out the website and had a question. If I already have a game set up in my classes, would I need to start over if I joined your site? Wish I would have known about this over the summer when I was planning!

There is so much you can do and I am just scratching the surface! That is why I am looking for a group of educators who want to share ideas!

I started about 5-7 years ago with a website called Classcraft which did everything for me, literally plug and play. Unfortunately they closed the site at the end of the summer and this year I've tried to do it all from scratch. It is working great!

I notice they are tipping on tax with their suggestions.

I love this too! I always do "finish the scribble" The first thing they ask on test day is "Is there a scribble??!!!"

I found a Google Sheet someone created and blogged about and I am so sad I can't find her blog to give her credit for it! I'll try to share it docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

I really like Julianna Tapper's ideas for this type of class. Check out www.collaboratedconsulting.org/about

Cool! What grade do you teach? Do you give points and have levels for your students to work towards, etc?
