Juan Antonio Arreola-Murillo, dubbed the “February 9th Killer,” strangled two women—one pregnant—on February 9 in 2006 and 2008 in Utah. He was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison.

The Neville Norway case (1830) involved the brutal murder of businessman Neville Norway in Cornwall, UK. Two men, William and James Lightfoot, were arrested after James drunkenly confessed. They were convicted and hanged, with James reportedly admitting guilt before execution. #TrueCrime

On the 7th February 2002 Brian Francis, 51, was found beaten to death at his flat in Blackbird Leys, Oxford. His residence was frequented by drug users. Police investigated a phone box on Merlin Road, believing a 999 call about the incident was made from there. The case remains unsolved.

On February 6, 1954, Maxwell Bodenheim, a prominent American poet and novelist associated with the Greenwich Village literary scene, was murdered. Bodenheim was a significant figure in the modernist literary movement of the early 20th century, known for his provocative, experimental writing style.

The McStay family disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, California, on February 4, 2010. Their remains were discovered in the desert near Victorville, California, in 2013. Charles "Chase" Merritt, a business associate of Joseph McStay was found guilty of the murders. He was sentenced to death.

On February 3, 2006, 68-year-old Mehar Singh Kataria was brutally attacked in his home in East Ham. He was beaten and repeatedly stabbed. An envelope containing £200 was stolen. Given the lack of forced entry, authorities believe Kataria likely knew his assailant. The case remains unsolved.

Lindsay Buziak,was a real estate agent fatally stabbed on February 2, 2008, while showing a house to a couple in Saanich, Canada. She had expressed concerns about the appointment. The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made to date.

On January 30, 1990, 33-year-old insurance salesman Surinder Gill was found stabbed to death in his car in Beavers Open Space, Hounslow, London. His distinctive dark red Mercedes bore the registration number 16 GLL. The case remains unsolved.

On January 28, 1829, William Burke was executed in Edinburgh. Burke and his accomplice, William Hare, committed a series of murders in 1828, selling the bodies of their victims to Dr. Robert Knox for anatomical study.

On January 27, 1997, 82-year-old Isabelle Gray was attacked in her home in, Leeds. She was found deceased the following day. It is believed that two men called at her house during the evening, assaulted her, and stole cash along with her handbag. Despite investigations, this case remains unsolved.

Laurence Merrick was shot and killed in the parking lot of his acting school in Los Angeles. The murder remained unsolved until 1981, when Dennis Mignano confessed to the crime. Mignano was later found not guilty by reason of insanity and committed to a mental hospital.

On January 25, 1971, Charles Manson and three of his followers were convicted for the 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders in California. These brutal killings included the murder of actress Sharon Tate and several others, orchestrated by Manson and carried out by his followers.

On the 24th of January 1989 Ted Bundy was executed at Florida State Prison. He had confessed to committing 30 murders between 1974 and 1978.

On January 22nd 1826 William Morgan, an American Freemason was abducted and murdered. His disappearance and presumed murder sparked the Anti-Masonic movement in the United States.

On the 19th of January 1900 professional baseball player Martin Bergen murdered his wife and two children with an axe before committing suicide.

on January 18, 1967, Albert DeSalvo, known as the "Boston Strangler," was sentenced to life imprisonment. DeSalvo confessed to the murders of 13 women aged between 19 and 85 in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964.

On the 17th January 1976, John and Irene McMonigle were found bound, gagged, and battered almost beyond recognition in their home at 108 Golspie Street, Govan. 28 year old Alexander Miller was charged with the murders. Miller was confirmed to a secure hospital.

On January 15 1984 the Bennett Family were brutally murdered inside their home. The crime went unsolved until 2018 when DNA linked the murders to a 58 year old serving prisoner called Alex Ewing.

One of the most infamous unsolved murders in American history, the brutal killing of Elizabeth Short, known as the Black Dahlia, occurred on January the 15th 1947, in Los Angeles, California. Short's body was found mutilated and bisected in a vacant lot, and the case remains unsolved to this day.

On January 14th 1975, 17-year-old heiress Lesley Whittle was kidnapped from her home in Shropshire while her mother slept. This was part of the Black Panther (aka Donald Neilson’s) ultimately fatal plot to extort money from the wealthy Whittle family.

On this day in 2013 Una Crown, an 86-year-old widow, was murdered in her bungalow in Magazine Lane, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. She was stabbed and set on fire, and her wedding ring and front door key were stolen. The case remains unsolved to this day.

On the 10th of January 1872, Eliza Davis was found brutally murdered. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, and the crime scene suggested an intense struggle. Samuel Stammers was found near the scene, covered in blood, and was immediately arrested. He was subsequently executed at Newgate Prison.
