Really stupid strategy as well. Activists control primaries. Cuomo should have set on this treasure chest until the Socialist candidate won. And this also jeopardizes his chance to run as an independent. It will be much more difficult to raise more money for the general. NO big bucks = bye bye

What many of the really rich people want is a national debt that is so high that massive cuts to entitlement programs are required. So long as the vast majority of their wealth isn't kdollar denominated they'll be just fine.

The grass roots money comes from the activists, the big money comes from billionaires and the activists own the primaries and Bluesky. So nothing is going to change. With no money or energy in the middle or independent groups, there are economic disincentives to moving to the middle.

Fox News, OAN and Newsmax TV will definitely air Trump's parade in its entirety. A large portion of typical MSNBC & CNN viewers will be at No Kings protests. So no matter what CNN or MSNBC airs, their audiences will be much smaller than usual during the protests with big uptick afterwards.

I respectfully disagree. There were about 1,500 Hands Off protests on April 5 and no Federal troops were mobilized. The key difference is the violent behavior of a few LA protesters. Any time Fox News can show burning cars, rocks and rubble being thrown at govt vehicles & personnel, we lose

I just saw the paragon of obtuseness - a guy on skateboard wearing a keffiyeh waving a Mexican flag at the protest.

For Sen. Ernst, reelection is more important than sticking to any principles. Her Hegseth vote proved that. She doesn't care about the devasting impact OBBB will have on some people. Sadly, Iowa voters have rejected the Democratic brand. She may be primaried but - No chance D's win the seat

According to Rattner's presentation $1.1T is the portion going to the top 20%. That means another $2T will be added to the deficit even with the cuts to Medicare/Medicaid and SNAP. Frankly, TCJA needs to end for everybody before interest on the debt will severely limit spending on anything else

Sounds like Air America for the podcast-youtube era. Pro tip: If messaging goes beyond X good Y bad, the population of potential subscribers drops precipitously. The rationale for most liberal policies requires complex explanations. And, as soon as complexity is introduced, game over.

Exactly! Some get a gold watch for retirement, Trump gets a flying palace. The Air Force One suggestion is his typical misdirection ploy. Proper summation of his presidency: The Art of Misdirection

Roughly how much of the proposed tax cuts go to filers making over $400,000? Is it all $5.5 trillion? If not, then why not specifically state that those making over $400,000 will receive $4.7 billion (e.g.) in tax breaks?

Perhaps I missed it, but why haven't @propublica.org and other investigative reporters looked into the individuals participating in these arrests? The circumstances and legality around non-uniformed, masked people without ID/badges making arrests should be investigated and reported.

In overwhelmingly blue districts/states, I agree with you. But I disagree in purple and closely contested districts/states. The special interests that dominate the primary process will elect a Democratic candidate that cannot win the general election.

As I watch this case unfold, and Trump's comment re "homegrown", I immediately thought about how Trump will slowly up the ante and eventually send political adversaries to CECOT. Worst of all neither SCOTUS nor the Congress will not stop Trump.

Corporate mgmt at info spheres focuses on presenting what it is in line with what their target readers/listeners/viewers wish to consume. Those creating content stoke fear/anger to maximize engagement via speculating worst case scenarios.

As you know, this can be parsed by the Trump administration that the actual decision wasn't as specific as Sotomayor's. Roberts wanted a 9-0 decision. That meant it had to be vague enough to satisfy Thomas and Alito. That vagueness allows Trump to ignore the lower court and follow SCOTUS's order.

I don't care how many economists, journalists, podcasters, and legacy media analysts tell us what's gonna happen, until prices actually are much higher, Trump's approval rating won't drop significantly. And then, Democrats must have an economic message that independent voters think is better.

Informative article ... but, before long those "senior-level employees who actually run the FBI, the intelligence agencies, and the Pentagon day-to-day" could be replaced by Patel, Gabbard, and Hegseth respectively.

The majority of people are for many Democratic policies (gun safety, living wage, lower drug costs, abortion, etc.) unfortunately there are never enough votes to enact these policies even when the Democrats hold the White House and Congress. Why? the filibuster. So, keep quiet and big donors happy.

He doesn't have the authority, he has unrestrained power to generate the org chart. SCOTUS will save face by simply not responding to any cases where POTUS has ignored the lower courts' orders. There maybe certain cases SCOTUS must decide, but waiting to respond is acquiescence.

Trump isn't an unstoppable force due to a mandate. He is an unstoppable force because he can do anything he wants. SCOTUS declared him immune and the Republicans in Congress won't stop him. Exhibit A - Pete Hegseth will be confirmed as SecDef.

Not a tweet, but a bird. Brenna Bird is the IA AG and she has been a MAGA supporter from the beginning. It is very likely that Bird will run against Ernst in the 2026 primary regardless of Senator Ernst's vote
