Well, at least now that I know he can get away with this, I never again have to worry about lightening hitting a church I’m in.

What if your local paper is the Washington Post?

Their policy positions prove that they don’t really give a shit about white babies, either.

Came here to say this. It’s not about the babies. It never was.

It’s a twofer, because many autistic people are also nonbinary.

I’ve been talking about it for months, but everyone else acts like I’m crazy.

Even worse, he believes making toasters is a better use of their time and talent.

Public service announcement: DOE is Department of Energy. Department of Education is ED. I keep getting confused by posts using the wrong abbreviation.

So the person working at McDonald’s pays taxes on all of their income, while a server at an expensive restaurant, who makes way more money, doesn’t have to pay taxes on their full income? How does that make sense?

Haha, yeah that’s funny. I do have a sense of humor, but I’m in public administration and DEI is near and dear to my heart. I worry that it will never make a comeback if it’s denigrated by the right and reduced to a joke by the left.

I get your point, but please don’t use that term. There is no such thing as a “DEI hire.” It’s a term made up by the right to justify their racism and misogyny. And using the term in that way just perpetuates the idea that anyone who is deemed a “DEI hire” is unqualified.

Absolutely the only correct answer

Are you really so ignorant of our plight? Or just so corrupt that you don’t give a shit that we’re already suffering and in chaos? Don’t use us as justification for your capitulation. It’s insulting. Even if the shutdown would have hurt us more (doubtful), we choose democracy.

2) Instead I go out of my way to be extra pleasant and appreciative, in the hopes that I can make their day a little bit more bearable and remind them that what they do is important and appreciated.

1) It’s awkward. The patient-dr dynamic makes it weird to ask your dr if they’re OK. Everyone I’ve dealt with has continued to be very professional and behaved as if nothing has changed—it feels like saying something would undermine their effort. You also don’t know their political leanings.

Dems keep invoking Reagan like today’s Repugs don’t think he’s a RINO

Leaks are almost always a leadership problem. Bad policy + bad management + low morale = leaks. The likelihood of leaks is compounded by incompetence and corruption at the top.

This country is literally going to shit

In their cases, I actually agree with the firings. Anyone who voted for this shit show was willfully uninformed, incredibly ignorant, or evil—in other words, unfit for public service.

1.2% of the budget is spent on foreign aid, and only a portion of that goes through USAID. And that aid isn’t given solely out of the goodness of our hearts. Having our adversaries and nondemocratic countries pick up the slack will be very bad from a geopolitical and national security standpoint.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that he pulled the US out of the UN Human Rights Council on the same day

He doesn’t have any evidence because there’s no such thing as a “DEI hire.” It’s a fabricated term used to confuse people about what DEI is and imply that anyone who is not a straight, white male is unfit for the job. Don’t play into their BS by using their language.

Ok, but specifically blaming white WOMEN and letting white men off the hook when more of them voted for Trump is some kind of misogynistic bullshit.
