As a born and raised Islander (Newfoundland and Labrador) your speed is perfect for me 😊
I listen to audio books and podcasts at 1.25 to 1.75 depending on the narrator. Gotta go fast 😅

I'd love to see a few hundred roads made one way with the other lane delineated with jersey barriers and noted pedestrian only. Make it wide enough to plow with class 2 and bam big safe protected pedestrian spaces.
Speed limits on all the small roads should to 30km/h too.

Love your work Ray. It inspires me to do better engineering. All of the post 2019 urbanism content inspired me to get into politics after taking a hard look at how lethal civil infrastructure is.
Keep rocking on @nebula.tv

Yeah it's wild that minimum wage is so low. Raise that wage so our fellow workers can thrive and ditch the tipping. I tip in Canada but I'd prefer if we didn't and just charged adequately.
It's really obnoxious when fast food has tipping. I really don't like that.

As is always tradition 😅
"Fix my roads with magic money but no more tax".
What makes money are high value property taxes such as mixed use high density, and compact narrow road communities.
Municipalities could develop themselves but avoiding litigation would be tangly. Always a spitey developer

That's someone who probably has no regard for anyone else on the road. They likely want to drive recklessly and are annoyed a child on a bike makes them have to come to terms with driving a machine that can end a child's life with one second of distracted driving.
It's more excuses for cars.

Not sure how Bluesky will display this but yeah, larger vehicles we have on our streets are more lethal and have worse sightlines.

Nintendo does mostly only release solid games. I've been in the xbox-o-sphere since 2001 and boy it's had a lot of disappointments.
DS is still my all time favorite console. Paper Mario is one of the all time greats.

It's abhorrent that the streetcars are mostly in traffic and that patrons gotta walk into active traffic lanes to board.
It's not that big of a deal to close like 1% of the roads in TO to two way traffic and make some lanes bus only. It's essentially statistically insignificant to travel time.

Hoyles Ave little Street just over from MUN.
Probably going to bother neighbors as it's 5 or 6 floors talk but that's all we can do without sweeping reform to the development regulations.

Cars should be treated as deadly weapons.
Simple as that. Treat hitting a pedestrian as assault with a deadly weapon and watch people slow down and save lives.

That was a very educational watch. Glad you linked it.

I noticed that a while ago. I still had the persons e-mail I was looking for. Maybe they are trying to prevent their largest vulnerability security wise; non tech savvy folks accepting emails.

Where you might ask? Village commercial area. Pleasantville. Bally haly golf course. The low density around Kenny's Pond (It still has plenty of room). Kenmount Hill. The many 1 floor low density commercial properties all throughout the city. The 150Ha of low use parking. Abandoned property

All hope is not yet lost.
We don't know how many tipping points we've crossed yet, but the UK proved a power grid can be turned around quickly and Norway proved a transportation system can be turned around quickly.
Things can be done
Municipal governments will need to step up a lot.
