Hey folks, things are getting a bit more desperate here in freelance land. Work has been very, very sparse for a while now. If you know of any opportunities for digital comms or social media stuff, do get in touch. All budgets considered.

WFH as an act of resistance

I’m back after a couple of weeks’ break from weeknoting. Here's 109 #weeknotes www.mynameismartin.co.uk/weeknotes/109

Last day of February. We made it

They should let Teenage Engineering write the standards

I've listened to several Mastodon songs over the years, they've made their way onto playlists, mainly for the gym. But tonight was the first time I've listened to an album, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME HOW PROG THEY ARE?!?! The deep cuts are like metal Rush, it's incredible

Stared at screens so much today my eyes are watering

Phreaky

Now our kitchen remodel has finished I need to wean myself off meal deals and lose 15-20lbs of weight as a result. Anyone got any interesting lunch recipes?

I may now have a compelling reason to print them, but I can't talk about it yet

This is messed up.

Made a new sticker because stickers are fun

How long until the only ethical tech left is pencil and paper? Who will read my bullshit then?

This is great

After 3 years I've given up on mechanical keyboards. I'm so much faster and accurate on my MacBook keyboard. I'll miss the clickety clack

No weeknote this week, feels weird to write about tiny little work stuff. I'll share this instead michaelrosenblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/fasc...

I found a book of stamps + some ziploc bags so I have made up a dozen packs of stickers left over from Govcamp and my Sticker Shop days - if you would like a pack DM me an address and I'll post them this week. Each pack has 10 stickers - one pack per person! 1st come, 1st served! **FREE STICKERS**

Working at my parent's doesn't cost any money, but I pay in other ways, such as tech support, or listening to gossip about distant family friends

My village's magazine is looking for volunteers, I wonder how long it would take me to convert them to a full-on gossip zine

Had a page redesign to implement today that seemed huge so I just typed until it was done and it's done now. I don't love coding, but I love *having* coded

I will no longer use google products for my small business. I'll begin moving away from their services today.

I didn't see one 'superb owl' joke this year. Nature is healing

Not me writing my #weeknotes and forgetting to post them www.mynameismartin.co.uk/weeknotes/106

Time to stop starting every day with a 15 minute gaze into the void. Sorry bsky, you really showed promise but the current world situation means I'll only come here for notifications and the occasional share from now on

Love this TV storytelling/editing insight. Sort of obvious, but great to have it broken down... joelmorris.substack.com/p/the-traito... (picked up via @undermanager.bsky.social’s very excellent newsletter — buttondown.com/russell)

7 mins into this movie on prime we got an ad break. Might as well be watching it on ITV. Everything is broken

Wait. There's a 31st of JANUARY?!

I am and have always been DIY inept. I have big clumsy hands and poor patience for fiddly tasks. But I also just managed to replace my bathroom extractor fan and I’m overjoyed

"I'll have that wireframe done in an afternoon" – me, foolishly, this morning (luckily, I didn't say it out loud)

#weeknotes Spent a lot of time out and about, prepped for a round of user testing. it's 104 www.mynameismartin.co.uk/weeknotes/104
