You could be right, but I doubt it. How many wheels need to fall off before the clamour to get rid becomes irresistible?

You couldn't make it up. Trump's ignorance and stupidity is actually getting worse. How long will the American people, or even the Republican party, put up with this embarrassment and humiliation?

Perhaps the hearts of the US military just weren't into celebrating and honouring Trump?

And they don't even care that the stench of corruption pervades everything they do. Norms of behaviour are already gone. âšī¸

It's very sad that this is funny, and that pretty much everyone who sees it will nod their head and recognise exactly what it's saying.

Indeed. That's a big part of the problem- USA is a very wealthy country, which could afford decent living standards for all its citizens, but it is a total fail on that: it chooses a system which promotes, and even glorifies, enormous wealth inequality.
comment in response to
post
Yes, and that's why USA ranks low on the table of happiest countries, despite being the wealthiest. You'd think they'd get it....but it doesn't seem likely. đ
comment in response to

Yes they would. And they should now, when Trump says it. If not, what are they for? If the Republican Party wants voter respect, and any credibility, they, every one of them, need to state very clearly where they stand on this- and not stay silent.
comment in response to

Maybe, but there's no way he'd have done that. No decent person would. It requires a level of crass ignorance, stupidity, vulgarity and insensitivity which only Trump has.

Trump is even losing outside of USA. First Canada, now Australia.
They look at Trump and USA, and decide they don't want any part of it.
When will Trump get the message?
comment in response to
post
Yes, and no-one in USA who could stop him seems to be prepared to.
That's the really worrying bit.
comment in response to

It's hard to say. There have already been countless things that would have terminated any "normal" political career, and another piece of crass idiocy is hardly noticed. Maybe it has to be economics that finishes him: roaring inflation, job losses, empty shelves, etc?
comment in response to

I doubt he has the attention span. It takes about half an hour to read. He'd lose interest after about a minute maximum.

Is this press bias, or because Trump's people really are shit at their jobs?
comment in response to

It doesn't matter what's actually in the bible. What matters is what religious leaders say is in it, to suit their own personal biases, and that people buy into those biases.

What's happened to Fox News? I thought that was the propaganda branch of the Republican party?

Stink is the right word for Trump and what he's doing.

Wow! Powerful.

Yes he is. The whirlpool of failures and bad outcomes for Trump is spinning ever faster, and will soon drag him under.

Of course not.

I'm not American, but I were, I'd be ashamed and embarrassed.
And.....only 63%. I'm surprised it's not a lot more.

It's common in old people with dementia, especially in later stages, to sleep more during the day.

I can't believe that's really true. That would put USA on a level with Hitler's Germany in the 1930's.
It's only been about 100days- can a country fall so far so quickly?
comment in response to

No, but it now has a de facto dictator, and unless the Democrats manage to enlist the cooperation of a few responsible Republicans, pdq, to enforce some sanity, this shitshow will not be recoverable.

Here in UK, they are over-abundant, and generally a pest. They make a terrible mess.

It's hilarious how right-leaning commentators try to attribute deep strategic thinking to Trump, as if he's playing 4D chess. The truth is he's a blundering idiot, with no clue what he's doing or what the consequences are. He operates from whim to next random whim.

He'll be wanting us to buy American cars next.
Perhaps he doesn't understand that people don't wantt to buy shitty products.

I feel sorry for Musk. So much money, yet so little happiness. He's so unhappy in his own skin, and the more he strives, the worse it gets.
comment in response to

Or the goods aren't imported to USA at all. Either way, bad news for USA, as domestic manufacture could never replace lots of what USA lifestyle demands.

If it continued on the Trump trajectory the ROW would just get on with things and position themselves to do without USA. It would take a while, but it's already started. USA would become relatively poorer and isolated. But I'd expect sanity in USA to prevail instead- but not under Trump.
comment in response to
post
Also no. I wouldn't touch anything to do with Musk with a 20ft bargepole.

I get what you're saying. But the position in SA was pretty much intractable before Mandela. Once apartheid had gone, there was huge optimism for a new future for SA. It is greatly to be regretted that lesser men have since squandered his legacy.
comment in response to
post
Then I disagree. He achieved much. That he didn't live longer and achieve even more does not detract from his huge contribution.
comment in response to
post
I don't think we're very far apart here. It's what we mean by "soon". Trump, Musk, hurricane Katrina will live on in the lexicon of awful history for decades. But the likes of Hitler and the holocaust are much longer lasting cautionary tales: indelible human history.
comment in response to
post
It was. But Mandela was a great man, and managed to end apartheid. USA could do with some truth and reconciliation to repair itself once Trump is gone.
comment in response to

Yes, contempt for being a rich but disgustingly awful human being will be Elon Musk's legacy, but he'll fade from memory fairly soon, once this awful experiment with Trump, wrecking everything, is over.
comment in response to

Yes. And unfortunately UK tends to follow USA. We haven't all gone batshit anti-science stupid yet, like USA seems to have done, but the trend of idiocy is increasing worryingly. đ
